Powerful Performance, Poor Instructions
Let me start by saying the instructions for the TekGlom 3000A Jump Starter are downright awful. They focus almost entirely on safety warnings and barely touch on how to actually use the device. I had to rely on the Amazon listing and my own inspection to figure things out. For beginners, this could be frustrating—there’s no mention of how to attach the cables, turn the unit on or off, use the flashlight, or charge a phone. That said, the unit itself is solidly built and compact. All connection points feel secure, and the clamps grip battery posts firmly. The flashlight is a nice touch and works well in the dark. To activate it, hold the power button for about three seconds. Press again for a flashing mode, and once more for an SOS signal—very handy in emergencies. Unfortunately, the phone charging feature was disappointing. It showed a green light briefly, then disconnected, and failed to charge my phone even 1%. Definitely not reliable as a power bank. After about six weeks, I finally had a chance to use it for its main purpose. My granddaughter left the lights on in her Dodge Durango overnight, and the battery was completely drained. I hooked up the TekGlom jump starter, and within a minute, the engine was running again. The lightweight cables connected easily, and the unit performed flawlessly. Overall, despite the poor documentation and unreliable phone charging, the TekGlom jump starter does what it’s meant to do—and does it well.
