Since I have Milwaukee tools and batteries already I decided to give this jump starter a try. It connects easily to the 18v battery and the battery clamps grasp the terminals without any issue. I will concur with other reviewers that this is not a substitute for a dedicated jump starter but rather a useful tool to have in certain cases. I tried this on a commercial grade wood chipper that I own that has a 4 cylinder Kubota engine. It had been sitting unused for several months and the battery was not dead but was definitely on the weak side. I would say this device gave an additional boost to the battery and I was able to fire it up. When I first connected my Milwaukee battery to this adapter I actually thought it wasn’t working because I put a multimeter on the clamps and it didn’t show any voltage. I decided to try it on the chipper anyway and when I connected it to the battery terminals the red light on the jump starter changed from red to green after a few seconds indicating it was ready to try and start. I’m assuming there is some kind of circuitry in the device that “turns it on” after connecting to a battery. I’m not positive that’s how it’s designed but that’s the way it worked in my test run. With that being said, if you have a totally dead battery this device might not activate. I don’t think this is capable of starting a large engine with a totally dead battery anyway so maybe that’s a non issue.
