I researched the best and healthiest diffusers and settled on this product, which is absolutely lovely in a minimalist sense and produces a very pleasing scent. I turn the reeds over every week to keep the diffuser working at peak efficiency. It's nice that there's no electricity needed and that the fragrance escapes slowly and naturally rather than being forced out. It's hard to know exactly how pure the essence is, although the company states that they use only the best. BEWARE! VERY DIFFICULT TO OPEN. I almost impaled my hand several times trying to open the cap. I used several instruments: my nails, scissors, pizza cutter, screwdriver, bottle opener and my teeth to pry off the plastic cap. The outer purple ring which surrounded the plastic cap was also difficult to screw off. I had to bang on the sides of it several times with a bottle opener to loosen it enough to screw off.
