Good tripod with selfie stick features

TrueNorth ReviewerOctober 13, 2025

So far I’m liking this tripod with selfie stick features. As you can see from the picture, the one I got does not include the ring light, which was rather disappointing since the picture on the box shows a ring light, but the “without fill light” was checked on the back. The tripod comes with a sturdy case to carried in, a little removable remote control, a cell phone holder, and it all closes down to a compact size. The only reason I’m giving this product of four star is that the instructions are very very basic and it took me a long time to understand how to open the tripod and use the features. If you’ve never used a selfie stick, like myself, it was a bit overwhelming and not something I was able to figure out in half an hour. I will post an updated review if anything changes, but so far I’ve been able to record a video fine, I like that it attracts my movement, and I appreciate that it doesn’t take up too much space once it’s in the case. Tall, Capable, and Surprisingly Good at Tracking

Ray MelvinNovember 7, 2025

Still not entirely sure why I picked this one up, but I’m glad I did. The tripod is impressively tall. I’m 6 feet tall, and when it’s fully extended the mount actually looks down at me, which gives it a lot more flexibility than most compact tracking tripods. The tracking performance is better than expected. Once it locks on, it follows smoothly and keeps the subject centered most of the time. I tested it with an action camera using the 1/4-inch screw mount (instead of a phone), and after disabling in-camera stabilization, I got smooth, stable, high-quality footage. When the unit loses tracking, it does get a bit “confused” and tends to drift or settle looking off to one side, but it quickly recovers once it reacquires the target. Gesture controls work reliably after a bit of practice, and the included remote is a nice bonus, though it did not work with my Action 5 pro. If you’re looking for a tall, versatile tracking tripod that can handle both phones and small cameras, this one’s a solid choice. Pros: Extends tall enough for full-height filming Tracking is accurate and smooth Works with action cams via 1/4" mount Gesture control and remote both work well Cons: Loses orientation briefly when tracking is interrupted Takes a bit of learning to master gestures Read more

Great for the price!

Lisa2197November 22, 2025

This is a great beginner level tracking tripod and is an exceptional value for the price point. It's surprisingly sturdy and well made and was super easy to setup. I particularly appreciate the remote control that paired effortlessly via Bluetooth to my Samsung Galaxy that lets you snap pictures and start/stop video. Also, the tripod itself does not require pairing of any kind and does it's job straight out of the box. The tripod's tracking ability works best at about 6' from the tripod and can get a little jerky the closer in you get, but if you're going to be that close, it also doubles as a selfie stick so not necessarily a big deal. Overall, a great value for the price - 5 stars! Read more

Nice tripod, some of the other features weren't as useful for me

DarrellOctober 11, 2025

I was excited to try this item out to see how it worked. It does work fairly well as a telescoping phone stand (if you need that). I found the tracking to generally work, but it wasn't a smooth motion and it jerked as it was turning. As a result, I wouldn't use this if I was moving around. The included remote worked well. There wasn't a ring light included, even though the box showed that and the instruction manual included instructions to set it up (so maybe I got a model without that). The instruction manual did talk about using iOS 13.4 or later which someone tells me the dating of when this might of been produced. All in all, with the new iOS Facetracking, I probably wouldn't need this unless I needed the tripod part or wan't something that could move around completely as I walked front to back of a room. Awesome tripod for the price.

J. GarzaroOctober 5, 2025

This face-tracking tripod is impressively well designed. While it’s not flawless in build quality or tracking accuracy, it’s clear that a lot of thoughtful engineering went into it. The unit cleverly integrates both a phone mount and a standard tripod screw mount, no swapping required. Each mount folds neatly out of the way when not in use, which makes setup smooth and flexible. The tripod itself telescopes to roughly six feet tall, yet folds down into a compact, easy-to-store size. Everything locks into place securely and feels well-balanced when extended. Face tracking works surprisingly well for this price range. Gesture recognition isn’t always perfect, but the camera reacts quickly and can keep up even when you try to throw it off. It does struggle a bit in lower light, but in normal lighting it performs quite well. Build quality feels solid for the $40–$50 range. The telescoping mechanism is sturdy and smooth, though some components—like the face-tracking camera housing and the wing nut that secures the mount—feel a little plasticky. Still, nothing feels fragile or cheap. One of my favorite touches is the one-handed tripod leg operation. The manual shows multiple ways to deploy and fold the legs quickly, and it genuinely works as advertised. Both the tripod and the detachable remote use USB-C for charging, which is a nice touch. Overall, for the asking price, this is a well-executed and feature-rich option if you want an affordable tripod with built-in face tracking that doesn’t rely on a separate app. Pros Telescopes up to around six feet tall but folds down compactly Dual mounting system (phone and tripod screw) built into one unit Smooth, sturdy telescoping mechanism One-handed tripod leg operation Built-in face tracking that works without an app USB-C charging for both the tripod and remote Great value for the price Cons Gesture recognition can be inconsistent Tracking performance drops in low light Some components feel a bit plasticky Read more
