Amazing, beautiful sounds, gorgeous blue, easy to learn (kind of). Don't give up, takes time and patience. Using your thumbs only is not the only way, you can use all 10. Having nails is better, sound improves, easier to touch only one key at a time. Tuning is easy. I recommend Gstrings app. Drawstring bag, cleaning cloth, hammer, thumb protectors, stickers with all the notes for placing on Kalimba, and manual all included. Please forgive the video - the way I set up the camera was a little hard to play at the same time 😅 This kalimba is absolutely beautiful, both aesthetically and by sound. It sounds almost like a music box and the tuning process is simple - it took me around thirty minutes to properly tune my kalimba, but when I was done I felt super accomplished and was fascinated with the sounds of each note. The book included comes with instructions on how to play two songs, but I personally would recommend looking up what you want to learn to play online. Avatar's Love is a pretty common kalimba song and is very simple and beginner friendly. This instrument is fantastic for people who may never have played an instrument before. It is easy to learn and to play, and enjoyable to practice. The instrument is quiet enough not to bother your neighbors if you live in an apartment and loud enough to play for a room of people at the same time. The blue color is very pretty and easy to clean. It does not get dirty easily. The keys do need to be cleaned; the wipe provided in the bag is pretty much good enough to do so. I would fully recommend this product. I have anxiety and ADHD and wanted to see if it would help, but the sounds the kalimba makes are extremely calming and satisfying. This little thing has brought such joy and expression into my life, playing it is like drifting off into a lullaby when you fully just play, it doesn't require a whole lot of skill, that does help, but the expressions I've been able to have were worth every penny, it sounds lovely and it's just adorable, especially the way the blue looks, it's like gliding my fingers across the dream itself, much like a warm knife through warm butter. I ordered this product looking for a new instrument to pick up in my past time, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by this Kalimba. The wood is light, (though thin), and the color/dye is a lovely deep slightly turquoise-y blue. The etched design is pretty clean, and the wood (possible plastic) is smooth, so there's no worry of splinters. The drawstring bag is made of a soft velvety material that's lovely for a soft, non-abrasive bag, but seems to attract every pet hair, loose pine needle, or any other debris it happens to come across. My Kalimba had one "dead" tine, it doesn't ring too well, and just makes a high-pitched PLINK sound. I havrnt had to use that specific key, thankfully, but it might be wprth noting for others. Overall, this Kalimba otherwise has a lovely, music-box sound. Definitely seems like a good Kalimba for anyone wanting to start out. Read more

I want to use it as a sensory release as well as meditation. I think it is perfect, and super fun. I love the color, it is a deep royal blue shade on the wood. It comes with instructions, a booklet to play it, sheet music, accessories for your hands when playing, and a case. The case is a drawstring velvet bag and it fits the instrument and the accessories. The size of this instrument is perfect for me as a short, smaller woman. I love it as it is easy to hold. I am not sure about tuning it yet, I am yet to try that. This kalimba sounds so pretty! Each and every tine plays perfectly. I did have to tune it, but it was super easy to tune. It is very sturdy and comes with a heavy duty case. It has a nice aesthetic being clear. And honestly it is wonderful to help relax you during anxiety attacks- that is what I initially started using the kalimba for, now I just want to play random songs just to hear the little chimes. My 12 year old loves music and loves trying out the "not so mainstream" instruments. She loves this! She is a quick learner and had two songs memorized the first day she received her kalimba. The instrument came in a nice packaging and was completely in tune when it arrived. The sound quality is beautiful and soothing. It has more of a "smooth" sound in comparison to her acrilic kalimba. I was concerned about the quality due to the rather low cost. It did not disappoint! I say go for it, even if you have no musical ability and can't read music (like me) you can still make some beautiful sounds by just plucking the tines. I find it extremely relaxing and truly helps to ease my anxiety when I sit down and just listen to the sounds. The only thing I will say is that it does not come with a hard case, if you plan on leaving it home the bag is just fine. If you want to take it anywhere I strongly suggest purchasing a hard case to keep it from damage to the tines. Read more
