I purchased the kasahara Renaissance costume to help build a LOTR themed travelers costume for Halloween. It functioned well as a one night costume, but it doesn’t feel very durable for more than a few wears. The cloak is thin and very wrinkled out of the package. I had to use a steamer very carefully because i didn’t want to damage the fabric. The accessories look inexpensive and I ended up using my own. It did fit well though for a 5’6”, 170 lb person. I LOVE the cloak; the green is a gorgeous shade and it has a velvety texture to it that is not too cheap and adds some weight so that it folds around the shoulders. This being said, the item itself is light and easily maneuverable. I don't think it would be too warm in the summer and it definitely won't be keeping you warm in the winter. But it is good for a costume quality item, especially as it is a mid-length cape. I liked the way that the cape clasps; it doesn't come on and off in a snap but that also means it won't fall off if you are running around or accidentally sit on it. I like the accessories and I do feel it is a good starter kit for ren faire getup. The belt of course has no holes and will not latch like a regular belt. It is a bit too thick to tie. I personally don't like the feel of it just looped around itself so this was my least favorite item in the pack, but brown belts are easy to find. The pouch is a little flimsy so don't expect to be keeping money or anything in there but I think some dice or pebbles or something would work great. The bracers are stiff out of the package and may need some folding. I found it challenging to lace up myself but if you have something to tie it around (a lotion bottle, chip can, etc.) it may be a bit easier. Overall this is a fun pack of Renaissance-type gear. Love this set! I ordered brown for a Robin Hood costume, it was perfect. The cape is knee length on my 5'9'' size small brother. It is made out of beautifully soft, fawn colored, short pile velvet. The spring loaded ring is light copper in color. The leather arm guards are medium-dark brown with dark silver hardware; the belt and pouch are also medium-dark brown but they have antique gold accents. The celtic design is lightly engraved on both the belt and the pouch then painted black. The hood is very generous—perfect for a ranger! Highly recommend. Read more
