I looked for a robe that would be similar in quality to the one I've owned for 8 yrs! This was the closest I found with waffle weave on the outside and a tight terry cloth on the inside (like a fine towel). Love it except it's huge (although I love the comfy fit of it) ! I could only choose Small/Med or Large/XL. I'm 5'2 and normally in a woman's size 10 and I chose large/XL. This robe goes to my ankles, and I had to fold up the sleeves to a 4" cuff. Perhaps after a wash it will shrink some...Only regret is I ordered only 1 instead of 4 (wanted to check quality first) and since the order took almost 28 days to arrive - the price has gone up $30 per robe!! Update, I have had this robe for just under a year, I only use it about twice a week and then for o ly about an hour each wear. Despite that, it has already started to show signs of wearing out. The fabric has begun to get holes along some of the seams and on the loops that hold the belt. I don't expect clothes to last decades like they used to before fast fashion, but for the price of this item I did expect to get more than a year of use out of it. I loved this robe and originally gave it 5 stars but have dropped it down to 3 because of the poor durability of it. See my previous review for the things I like about this item. I will not buy this item again. Original review: I love that this robe has a true double lining with the waffle fabric on the outside and Terrycloth on the inside. The thickness of the two fabrics together is very cozy and feels luxurious, I would not want the fabric to be any thicker because it would make the robe too heavy. If you are looking for one of those ultra soft robes this is not the one. It is cotton terrycloth on the inside so it feels like a wash cloth. It's not going to feel as soft as the furry robes you can get. Unlike the furry robes, however, this one is absorbant and perfect for after a shower. This is a very long robe which is a plus for me since I am on the taller side and struggle with robes looking too short on me. I'm 5'11" purchased the L/XL and the length comes down to about mid calf on me and the sleeve length is perfect. I washed and dried it and noticed only minimal shrinkage, not enough to worry about. The robe is impressive at first. It appears to be well made, and the cotton terry lining is soft. The first time I washed the robe, it shrank about about three inches. I could have lived with the shorter robe, but the lining material now hangs about an inch below the waffle weave outer robe. The seam of terry lining is beginning to separate on one side. The difference between shrinkage in the outer robe and the lining makes the robe hang unevenly. At the price, I expected a much more attractive and durable product. Read more
