The media could not be loaded. I purchased this Kawa Mini Orb dash cam to use in my daily driver since the built in dash cam stopped working. Overall I'm very pleased with this, from the ease of installation, build quality, ease of use and quality of the recordings. The Mini Orb dash cam comes with everything needed to quickly install it, including an electrostatic mounting sheet, 32 gb micro-sd card, usb-a to usb-c power cable and a 12v DC power adapter. The mount is built into the camera and attached to it with a ball joint, allowing a full 360 degrees of rotation and about 90 degrees of pitch adjustment. Installation was easy - I simply applied the transparent electrostatic mounting sheet to my windshield, removed the sticker to expose the adhesive pad on the camera mount and stuck it to the electrostatic mounting sheet. The mount allows you to twist it to quickly remove the camera without having to unstick the adhesive or the mounting sheet, which was a nice additional feature. Overall the mount is really firm and the short 'arm' ensures the camera doesn't bounce around at all while the car is driving. The video appears incredibly stable, so there may be some optical image stabilization going on as well. Using the camera is easy. I simply plugged it into one of the still functioning rear-USB ports on my car and as soon as the port turns on, the camera starts recording. By default, the camera turns on a wifi hotspot, which you can connect to with your phone. Using the KAWA app (available on the play store - no need to sideload), I was able to connect and either stream live video from the camera (useful when aiming it) or download recorded videos from the trip. The camera also includes voice commands, which generally worked a lot better than I expected. You can use voide commands to turn the wifi hotspot on or off, turn audio recording on or off, take a picture or lock the video so it isn't overwritten when the recording loops. Some of these functions are also available with the power button, but that's a lot clunkier to use and is out of reach the way I have the camera installed, so having the voice controls is a great feature. This is really key for accessing the camera while driving, as I found the wifi hotspot disconnects my phone from mobile data, so I toggle it on any time I want to look at something on the camera and then off again when I'm done so my data connection is restored. Overall the quality impressed me quite a bit as well. I shot in a number of conditions with both low light and direct sunlight and the picture quality was better than I expected generally. The attached video shows low light, just after dawn on a very foggy / overcast day. The video is very stable without any visible shaking and resolution is decent. If you're looking for a compact, inexpensive dash camera this KAWA mini orb camera works very well. I'm glad to have recording back again as it definitely gives me some peace of mind when driving. I installed the camera at a height that allows it to be hidden behind the rearview mirror and so that it does not interfere with my regular line of sight. It is important to set a dash cam in such a way that it seems to be completely undetectable after it is installed. In order to ensure that it catches the road in a clear manner without pointing too high, I spent additional time tweaking the angle, and once I reached the optimal angle, it remained in place. Although it has been subjected to uneven pavement, speed bumps, and potholes for many weeks, it has not moved or begun vibrating. The most enjoyable aspect has been the day-to-day experience on account of the fact that it demands practically little mental effort. Once I start the vehicle, the dashboard camera immediately turns on and starts recording without my intervention. As soon as I switch off the vehicle, it completes the process of storing the clip and then shuts down properly. Throughout the first week, I made sure to check the recordings on a regular basis because I wanted to make sure there were no gaps. Every time, I was able to locate whole clips that corresponded to my disks, and the time and date were just as I had anticipated they would be. A dash cam's true worth lies in its capacity to provide such a level of dependability. All around me, I am able to see the flow of automobiles, as well as the lane lines and traffic lights. The perspective is expansive enough to take into account the surrounding environment, which is important when an occurrence begins from the side rather than from the front. During the afternoon, a car moved, approaching my lane near an exit, which compelled me to use the brakes with great force.
