I was looking for a long vest to go to a November convention....and I didn't want to wear a coat. This fit the bill. I purchased this vest in Large, because I like the style for my pear-shaped figure. I am petite (5'3") and smaller on top wearing size M-L (17" shoulder width) with an XL bottom. I wanted a more fitted top, and based on sizing knew I couldn't button over my hips. The vest bottom edges measure 51", with buttoned about 47" sweep. At HIP with lower button closed measures 44". I can button the top, but prefer one size down (M) as the width is about 2" wider on me. My shoulders are 17" across - chest 36", so the vest looks best buttoned on top and open on the bottom. The dark gray/black plaid fabric is quality. It washed up nicely in the machine on normal/casual setting with cold water with dark rayon fabric clothes, so no lint ball issues. It was hung to dry and looks new! The lining looks nice when revealed, and adds a layer of warmth. I'm certain this vest would be too warm with temps in the 80s. I've received many compliments wearing it with a white shirt, black skinny jeans, and black boots. Read more

This was a little small and I ordered a replacement but didn’t return immediately to make sure I liked the bigger size better. Although I am well within the return window and Amazon approved the return - The seller is trying to get me to keep it with a refund of $16, calling that a fair resolution. Not impressed. Very nice, well made vest jacket. The checkered fabric comes across dresser than if it had been solid black. But that was not an option at the time I purchased it. Would have preferred solid black. Still, a super nice, extremely well made sleeveless long jacket. Read more
