Works as expected and so far is much better than the lithium jumper packs that I replaced with this.
I was intrigued by the fact of not having a battery. I have had many battery jump starters and most work well several times but seems like eventually they fail for one reason or another. I have probably had 10 over the years and my newest one finally died after a little over a year. Granted, I probably use them more than most and in tougher conditions with larger engines. I bought this super capacitor jump starter and I had done some reasearh up front so I knew what to expect, but so far it has worked wonderfully and started even large diesel engines without problem. I typically charge from another battery just to give the drained one that much more of a boost and doesn't take much time to charge from another. Even if it doesn't start first try and the jumper is drained, it isn't bad to charge again from another vehicle. This is similar to having a pair of jumper cables, but in portable format since most of the time I can't get close enough with cables. I have also used a few times to charge from a low battery and then start and it works but prefer to charge from another running vehicle or battery that is already charged. I am hoping that this will last much longer than the smaller lithium battery jumpers, and when I say smaller, I mean physically. This unit isn't small by any means and the lithium packs are more compact but trying to keep 2 or so running at any given time I have had to buy more than one a year which gets costly and they weren't cheap units although not the most expensive either. So far I really like this and have used on my diesel truck, combine, tractors, etc. I think everything so far has been larger diesel engines and it has always done the trick. Read more
