KEEP Extra Wide & Long Yoga Mat for Men, 79"x39"x7mm Thick is a much wider-and-longer-than-usual yoga mat. Is it just for men? Um, no, since I'm not a man and I successfully use this mat for exercise, too. As a matter of fact, I love this mat! I plan to keep using this one instead of returning to my shorter, skinnier mat. This mat, for instance, gives me the luxury of planting my weights next to me on the mat. That may not be super important, but I kind of like having them right next to me, up close. It is not too thick, but the mat is extremely firm and sturdy. This mat is HEAVY. As a matter of fact, please take that into account. It won't be light, as some yoga mats are. It has a strap that keeps the mat rolled up, which cannot be used as a carry strap. It's a bit clunky to carry, because of its size. My feet do not slide around on this surface; it holds them steady. I can't wear socks, however; even socks with sticky bottoms still slide a bit. Bare feet are much more stable. This mat is much more spacious than my last yoga mat. I added a picture of my last (green) yoga mat on top of this more recent mat, so you could see the difference between them. This one is much larger and longer. I've been planning on purchasing a large yoga mat for a while and when I saw this I decided to order it. It's a big mat, 79" x 39" so it's perfect for my large frame. It's a great quality mat and is soft and thick so it provides a good cushioning on my hardwood and tile floors. The non-slip grip pattern on both sides of the mat works perfectly so the mat hasn't slipped or moved while doing my exercises. I've done stretching exercises, balance work, and light lifting on this mat and find it works well for anything practice on any surface, including my basement carpet. I began a beginner yoga class a few weeks ago and used this mat for the last class, and it makes a world of difference. This KEEP extra-wide and long yoga mat has quickly become my go-to mat for deep stretching and floor work, especially for movements that previously left my knees or upper arms hanging off onto the floor. The extra-wide and long size gives plenty of room to move without feeling cramped, which makes a huge difference.
