Comfortable and easy to assemble

Absolutely functioned as advertised and was comfortable to sleep on. One thing worth noting (from my experiences) is its width. This cot is 27" wide whereas many other cots are 25" wide or less. I am a side-sleeper and I found my knees banging on the sides of narrower cots. I paired this with a self-inflating pad and a blanket as a base and it slept great. Read more

A must for camping

Hand down one of the best camping cot purchases we made. I thought it would not be comfortable but I was extremely shocked at how comfortable it was. Sleeping off the ground feel different but there’s enough air circulation where it doesn’t make you sweat. The materials and frame are very sturdy and can hold 200# without cause the cot to sag as much. It’s is a bit pricey but we try a couple of cheaper one and it wasn’t as stable or comfortable at this brand. Read more

Too Difficult to put together

This is much better than sleeping on a pad on the ground but it was so HARD to put together. Lots of cursing. I'm not taking it apart. Read more

Great choice

Time will tell, but after 3 multi-night trips it has worked great. Take a bit of strength to put together and take apart, by manageable. And supported 240 lbs without issue. Not for backpacking, but great for car camping. Read more

Bent leg on first use

Leg bent on disassembly on first use. It’s been over 3 weeks since contacting customer service/warranty, and Kelty has not even replied to say what they will or intend to do. It is a frustrating experience and I would not recommend purchasing from Kelty. Read more

Lightweight and comfortable

In my younger years I had no trouble sleeping under the stars on the hard ground, now that I’m getting older I find myself needing the more comfortable things to help me sleep. I used to use the inflatable sleeping pads (that you pump up with your foot) but they don’t last long and typically develop holes and leak air. I’ve also used the thick foam mats (which work great and are super comfortable) but those take up a huge amount of space. While in the Army I used to sleep on cots and I remember getting a decent sleep at night. So I decided to give this a try. So far I really like it. Since it elevates you off the ground, the cold doesn’t seep in like it would if you were sleeping on the floor. Being elevated a few inches helps to get ready in the morning. Here are some observations based on using it on a few camping trips. The material is soft and yet very strong (it states a 300lb weight rating). The Feet have a decent footprint that helps to spread out my body weight. This helps prevent the feet from poking holes on the bottom of the tent. The aluminum poles are strong and remain stiff. I like how the can collapse and be easily stored. The setup/tear-down is very quick. Once you figure out how to do it, its really easy. This is very lightweight. The whole thing weighs 2.25kg. The dimensions are: 74”long, 28” wide, 6.5” tall. Read more

Great for double dog bed

I ordered this as a double sized elevated dog bed. I have an elevated dog bed in the house, but wanted one for the patio that could fit both dogs. This is a well built piece and fits both dogs at the same time. I did struggle with fitting it together, but in the end, I got it. It's also great that it comes with a carry bag so I can take it with me camping, and keep the dogs off the dirty ground. Read more

Comfortable, portable, and it's a Kelty

I've always had good luck with Kelty gear and I expect this cot is going to give just as long service as any other Kelty gear I have. This cot is comfy and is even better with a sleeping pad on it, which you should probably do anyway and especially so in cold weather. It is easy to put together. You just slide the shock cord poles in the sides and push them into the corner tab pockets, and then clip the shock cord legs onto the poles. It's easiest to start in the middle and work your way down to the ends. It does require quite a bit of pressure to put the legs on but it isn't particularly hard to do. It will get easier after the first time or two. The cot does bow down at my foot end a bit but I don't notice it at all when I'm sleeping. If you're a side sleeper this cot seems to conform to your body shape very well. It also isn't as noisy when moving around at night like some materials can be. It comes with a nice storage bag with more than enough room to put the cot back into when you're done using it. This is to bulky to take backpacking but it's a good size for car camping with a tent. So far I'm impressed and don't have a problem recommending it. It's kind of pricey, but if it lasts as long as all my other Kelty products then it's worth it. Read more
