My son is 12 but has a 23.5 inch waist and is really skinny. They (medium) fit him perfectly and you can’t even tell he has them on under his shorts/sweats but provide the protection required for an electric motorcycle like the Razor MX650 he has. He WILL NOT ride without them. I just need to know whether they can be washed, and if so, how (settings like temperature, etc) since the pads do not come out. This short is well made with what can be appreciated as quality materials. Wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is of utmost importance when rollerblading, it has a big-long Velcro adjustable waistband, I like this Velcro that won't damage or pull strings from the T-shirts and pants. On top of that, the padding is really good without being overly aggressive looking, better said, kids are not ashamed of wearing it and most definitely feel grateful when they land on the pavement, and they do not feel excruciating pain. Material is very elastic and adapts well to your silhouette, stays in place when skating and can resist a few falls without breaking or pulling fabric. In comparison with other PPE shorts with the same function, this one comes with a big pad to protect the tailbone that adds peace of mind when my girls are skating. These padded shorts fit my daughter very well. She usually wears a size 8-10 and the Large fit perfectly. The padding is high quality and very well placed and the materials are smooth and comfortable to wear. The choice to make the pad in the rear the color it is was a weird one in my opinion. My daughter is not thrilled with that part of her body being highlighted in that way. I wish they were just black in all areas but they function well so whatever. Read more
My kiddo is teaching herself to skateboard, and after one really painful fall on her tailbone that put an end to her ability to skateboard (or walk well) for a couple of days, I decided to get her these padded shorts. Took her to the skate park, and these shorts allowed her to fall and get right back up to try again. She’s a thin kid, and I was worried that these would make her look like she was wearing a diaper under her shorts, but I had to ask her if she was wearing them because I couldn’t tell. She’s 63 inches tall and 81#. I went by her weight since she’s taller than what’s on the size chart and got her a large. They fit great. Read more
