I just wanted to leave a quick review since there aren't any. I took a chance and ordered these for my almost-7-year old even though there were no reviews. I chose the solid-colored package (I don't care for dinosaur, outerspace and superhero designs that are on nearly all underwear options for boys). These are great! I'm really pleased with the quality. I machine-washed them as soon as they arrived, and air-dried them. My son is about the size of an average 9 year old, I think, and size 12 fits him well. 4'2" and 75 lbs. He's thicker around the waist. Carter's and Cat & Jack sizing: he wears 8 tops and 10 bottoms. Previously, I had purchased Gymboree cotton briefs for him, but he outgrew their largest size (L). I like these so much that I will go ahead and purchase the size 14s while they're on sale. (Please make these in more solid colors and larger sizes!!) Edit: The shorts fit snugly like biker shorts on my son, NOT like loose shorts as on the model. I prefer that they fit snugly because I think that prevents them from "riding up" his crack. He's been wearing them daily now for the past five days, and he has no complaints. Again, I machine washed and air-dried (which I always do for underwear), so I don't know if they would shrink in if machine-dried. Read more
