I purchased this Kindred Bravely labor and delivery gown for the birth of my first baby and I am very glad that I did. I changed into it as soon as I arrived at the hospital and it was extremely comfortable throughout labor. I never felt cold and the material felt soft and breathable even as my temperature changed during labor. The fit was great and the length always felt appropriate. I am 5ft 7 and ordered a medium/large and it covered down to just above my knees without ever feeling too short. The straps were easy to open after delivery which made skin to skin time with my baby very simple. All of the buttons and clasps felt secure and well made and nothing ever came undone unless I opened it intentionally. I also like that this gown can continue to be used for breastfeeding and lounging after delivery. I was on the fence about if I needed my own L&D gown, but ended up pulling the trigger. OH MY GOSH I’m so happy I did!! I was induced and it took 3 days for my labor to begin. It was so nice to have a comfortable outfit to wear that whole time that I felt cute in! If you are getting induced and therefore unsure how long you’ll be in the hospital before baby, I absolutely cannot recommend this gown highly enough. The pockets for my phone were phenomenal. I spent a lot of time walking around the unit or my room trying to kickstart labor and it was nice to easily have my phone. I loved the snaps front and back. It made it so easy for the team to place monitors without exposing me too much and then they were easy to snap back up around the cords. I did get an epidural but I had taken my gown off by that point so I can’t speak to the functionality of the Velcro in the back. I did see some reviews that said the Velcro was itchy but I didn’t have that problem. I have continued to wear this as a nightgown postpartum and I still love the snaps that can help pull down the front for easy nursing, this was awesome in the postpartum unit as well I’m a plus size girlie (5 foot, 236 lbs on induction day) and I felt very comfortable in this, not too tight or clingy but very loose and flowy. The material is soft and comfortable and the gown is well made. I got an XL. I was worried I’d be cold with the tank top straps but that didn’t end up being an issue for me. This gown was a great choice for labor and recovery — soft, breathable, and so much more comfortable than the hospital-issued gowns. The ruffled sleeves are a lovely touch and made me feel a little more like myself during a tough but special time. I ordered the medium/large, but it ended up being overly roomy. I definitely could have gone with the small/medium and still had plenty of space, even at full term. The fit was loose enough to stay comfortable during labor and afterward. It has thoughtful details like shoulder snaps for nursing or skin-to-skin, full back coverage, and — best of all — pockets! Im really glad I decided to get this gown for my Labor/Delivery! I ordered it last minute because I really wasnt sure if I would really even need it. The fabric is soft, good quality, the fit was comfortable I wore a robe when I got cold. I walked around the hospital comfortably because it covered all the right places it looked like a comfy dress with pockets. The accessibility is 10/10 wether they need to monitor baby, put in the epidural, breastfeed, it opens up from the shoulders back front without exposing everything at once if you dont want to. Only 4 stars for me because I have 2 small complaints- the snaps on the front of the dress barely go down low enough to really qualify as a long shirt with my large bump and i had wanted to walk into the hospital wearing this without flashing everyone. And 2nd is I wish the straps were elastic or some kinda adjustable because they annoyingly keep sliding off my shoulders. Not big issues but things to consider. I love the soft material and the fact that the back is velcro so it's more comfortable to lay on. It has pockets which is always a big positive as well. I am so happy I decided to splurge and get this for my last pregnancy. Made such a difference being comfortable as opposed to wearing the gown from the hospital. Made my birthing experience all the better. It’s comfy and cute with tons of great access points! I loved the pink color too. Read more
I don’t write reviews that often. Holy cow, y’all. This is genuinely the comfiest thing I’ve worn my entire pregnancy by a MILE. I was worried it would feel too tight or too loose, but the fabric is somehow both flattering, soft and stretchy in all the right places! I’ve had a couple labor scares, and had to wear the hospital provided gowns. They are SO uncomfortable, and expect you to walk around with your parts hanging out !!! The nurse said she “didn’t mind” but I definitely did ! All of the access points in this thing are what persuaded me to buy it. Easy epidural access, as well as skin to skin, AND you can easily get the baby monitors in there without having to sacrifice coverage. What really affirmed me this was a great purchase is how comfy it is ! I have autism, so certain things fitting me oddly, being too short, or too tight in certain areas can cause me a lot of anxiety. I’m even excited to wear this postpartum because of how easy it is to breastfeed in this thing! It’s also lightweight, so I’m not overheating in this thing like I am with most items with this much coverage. Ladies, with all the discomfort we endure in this long journey of pregnancy, treat yourself to something you’ll adore both during pregnancy, during labor AND postpartum.
