Pretty great product. Installation was fairly simple, I liked that it comes with a separate clear adhesive sheet to put on the windshield first. Quality is fairly good for the price point, my windows were dirty inside so it slightly blurred some of the shots. Small compact design and the built in screen is nice if it wasn't blocked by my mirror, but that was the least obstructive of my view. Video quality is pretty clear, low-light shots at night were surprisingly good. I didn't too much issues with the app, easy to navigate. Its pretty quick to navigate in and download a video, they are split from 1-3 min clips while it records. One gripe, if you are in the app and stop recording, navigate to the settings and back to the main control screen, it automatically starts recording again. I little bit of a nuisance when your trying to change settings, but that was only first setup for me. I learned what settings I could use/change and after I lowered the volume, I haven't touched the settings since. They could change that on the application side so not a ding against the product. Wiring is long enough for the installation. The included 64gb micro sd is pretty great at this price point. My only issues is that I share the cigarette charger slot with a tablet that I need for ecu management and android auto. Purely my problem though. One thing to note would be the camera talks to let you know its on, recording, and stopped recording. Thus is graleat, the only issue is the speaker is muffled and its distorted pretty bad. Not sure if its muffled because of the design or I just received a unit with a defective speaker. Either way not a deal breaker since I just use the app and turn down the volume. *light streaks are from my windshield. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Very good Dash Cam setup, for the price! Arrived quickly & packaged nicely. Everything that came in the box as pictured and advertised. The instructions were simple enough and easy to understand. I must say, it really was plug and play. What took me the longest was tucking in the wiring to make it look hidden & neat. Also, you can see from the pics, I chose to mount the rear camera on the inside of the rear glass, as opposed to on the outside near the rear license plate area, as the instructions. I just didn't want to have it mounted on the outside. I think I get enough rear coverage where I have it, as the pics show. Also, downloading and using the app was/is very simple to do. I plan on getting a larger SD card to be able to hold more footage. So far, the vide quality of the footage seems fine and as expected. The camera & app have many setup options to configure to your liking, that I'm still learning and going through. One thing that surprised me was the audio voice on start up. The quality of the speaker is poor making it hard to make out what's being announced. I think it says something to the fact that the system is on and recording. I must have missed that it had that feature. Being the quality, I think a simple chime would have been fine. Other than that, it's a great bang for the buck! Read more
I got hit by a car that was hit by a drunk driver. The dash cam caught it all. I downloaded the videos to my phone and airdropped them to the police officer at the scene. Everything was super clear! The police were very appreciative. Update: I was in a wreck in October. Again this dash cam saved the day. The guy said he had the green light. He t-boned me and I went head first into a light pole and I had my dashcam footage showing that I had the green light. I uploaded it to my insurance company and his insurance company called and said they were accepting full liability. It would have been my word against his. Even the police report said he told them he had the green light. Protect yourself! I may have still gotten my life derailed for a while by this guy, but it could have been way worse trying to prove that I was in the right. Also the inside camera was clear. It was hard to watch myself getting thrashed in the car but it helped understand why I hurt so much. Even after this two impact crash, the dashcam is still working great in my new car. I will keep a dashcam in my car from now on. June 2024 update: the dash cam is still working great. They should put me on their payroll for all the times I have shared the Amazon link to my friends and family and sometimes strangers who ask. 😂 The first ever kinda issue with the dash cam has been that the suction that attaches to the windshield crumbled. I live in texas. The heat here finally took its toll on the plastic in the suction cup. I looked on Amazon for a replacement for Kingslim and didn’t find one. I emailed the company and they responded within 30 minutes!! I was impressed. The process to get a new suction was going to take two-ish weeks and cost $6. If you’ve read this far, you know that I don’t drive without my dashcam. I looked at what I had and I looked online again and found this… (I hope the link works.) https://a.co/d/9lse9QN Take the screw out and it fits perfectly on the mount that is attached to the camera. It was at my house the next day!! I hope this helps! Protect yourselves! May 2025 Update: Okay… so here’s the latest… I think my little buddy dash cam is seeing its last days. The Texas heat has taken its toll. The WiFi looks like it’s connecting but then it doesn’t. I’ve restarted my phone. I moved the dash cam from the windshield to the rear view mirror hoping that it was just too much for it to sit in the sun. It’s not keeping time anymore. It resets fairly often. Last week, a coyote ran in front of me and when I tried to connect to see the video, it wasn’t there. There were no recent files. While I was messing with it, the time set itself. I thought it was better, but the clock reset again today and I can’t connect. My car comes with an integrated dash cam. It only records when it feels something has happened though. I’m going to try to find the best, latest dashcam. I like knowing that I am constantly being recorded, so driving will be a little scary until I get a new one. I had two plus great years with it. That doesn’t seem long, but I can’t trash Kingslim. I really feel like the heat here is just too much for it. Not to mention the jarring from the wreck. I was impressed that it didn’t break from that. So Kingslim, if you’re reading this, thanks for making an affordable dashcam that makes me feel more comfortable driving in a world of distracted people. Read more
Piece of trash. Doesn’t organize video files properly. And doesn’t record half the time. It’s totally random when it chooses to record. Read more
