The questions we all have were fully checked off. I’m 5’2, 194 pounds, and built like a box. Seriously, you could pack me in the same rectangle box these pants arrived in. I ordered the lighter beige (think French vanilla) and the darker khaki (not a light tan but a true khaki color). I was going for the quiet luxury or “old money” aesthetic that is timeless and put together. So, how do these pants fair against the luxurious box that is me? Pros: Tummy: I have one. Do these fit mom bellies? Yes. What about the pooch effect? A little. When I sit down there is a little pooching from the fabric but if I add a blazer or sweater then it’s hardly noticeable. There is zero, and I do mean zero, stretch in the waistband so if you’re between sizes I would go up a size. I am a new size 16, from an 18, and it took me a full minute to be okay with a fitted waist since most of my pants have elastic waists. Buttons and belts: The buttons (there are 2) were sewn on well. The zipper didn’t catch and after two flights of stairs to test out whether these pants could handle the demands of being part of my closet the zipper stayed put. Belt loops are wider so while a thin belt would still look cute I would go with a standard thickness in a belt to get that old money look. Length: I could walk barefoot in them as they’re wide legs and while maybe an inch too long they’ll do nicely with heels added to them. I walked outside with a pair of booties on and they did not drag the ground. The hem on the bottom of the pant legs is nicely constructed and gives a tailored look. Thighs: Did not make me look like a can of biscuits about to make an escape. They draped nicely over my luxury edition thighs and didn’t seem to hurt my feelings. Cons: There really aren’t any that would stop me from ordering more of these. They probably require hand washing, gentle detergent, or Woolite. (Photo attached for instructions). Can you see through them? I couldn’t. I could see the line but with shape wear that would solve the issue. Bumps and lumpy bits showing? A little but this is where shape wear comes in. All in all, these are high end quality with an everybody price tag. They’re pants with substance meaning they are true corduroy trousers with a little weight to them. They’ll likely do fine through autumn but I will add a second pair a size up so that I can wear footless tights under for an extra layer of warmth during winter. 10/10 do recommend!
