Prepare to take your summer entertaining to the next level with the KitchenAid Shave Ice Attachment! As soon as I attached this sleek, white accessory to my KitchenAid stand mixer, I knew I was in for a treat—and boy, did it deliver. The set comes with four molds, allowing you to create perfectly shaped shave ice blocks with ease. From there, it's as simple as loading the block into the attachment and letting the mixer work its magic. In no time at all, you'll be treated to mounds of fluffy, finely shaved ice, ready to be transformed into refreshing, flavorful treats. What I love most about this attachment is its versatility. Whether you're craving a classic Hawaiian shave ice with fruity syrups or a trendy Japanese-style kakigori topped with fresh fruit and condensed milk, the possibilities are endless. Plus, the adjustable blade lets you customize the texture of your shave ice to suit your preferences, from light and airy to dense and creamy. Cleanup is a breeze as well. The attachment disassembles easily and is dishwasher safe, so you can spend less time cleaning up and more time enjoying your delicious creations. Whether you're hosting a summer barbecue, a pool party, or just looking to treat yourself on a hot day, the KitchenAid Shave Ice Attachment is sure to be a hit. It's well-built, easy to use, and delivers consistently fantastic results. Say aloha to a taste of the tropics in your own kitchen—order yours today and get ready to chill out in style! Read more

Well-designed, easy to use

My initial reaction was that KitchenAid put a lot of thought into this ice shaver- it was easy to assemble and it works well. The parts can only be put together one way and there's a nice click sound when they're properly seated. It slides onto the mixer easily and feels very secure. In reading the description I thought the frozen pucks wouldn't make much shave ice, but they do. Plain water resulted in a heaping mound in a cereal/soup bowl. Anything flavored or more dense (mashed fruit) has significantly less loft but it's still a good-sized portion for an adult. I mashed up an 8 oz container of raspberries. One freezing cup held 85-90% of the mash. It frozen well and shaved easily. It might be better to add a bit of liquid but I wanted to see if the blades could handle it. Then I added a little raspberry liqueur to the next batch and that was delightful. More than likely, one of my main uses will be to freeze teas pucks and use them instead of ice cubes to prevent diluting iced tea. Made some herbal peach tea today and the intensity didn't fade over time with the flavored shave ice. The possibilities are endless. It's so much better and healthier than colored sugar water in the typical snow come. If you don't feel creative the manual has a few recipes to get you started. Of course you can simply shave the ice and pour flavorings over it. A couple tips - Don't put fingers into the ice cup! Handling the blade disks alone was safe and easy. But once attached to the ice cup there's just a razor blade sticking out of the bottom. I tried to check for remaining ice and nicked a finger. Lesson learned. - Be sure to attach the main body to the mixer first, then add the ice cup to it. Align the tabs, it's really easy (watch the video on Amazon). I just read the quick guide initially and it takes dexterity, strength, and a few curse words to finagle it off the mixer. - Plan ahead. It takes time to freeze the pucks and plain water pucks need to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before shaving. Only 4 cups are included so if you have a big family or guests you'll want to have some pucks stashed in the freezer. The lingering question is longevity. Time will tell if it holds up. But it's well-made so I'm not concerned about that. It will get a lot of use this summer. Read more

Kitchen Aid Shaved Ice Attachment

Quality is sturdy, reliable, easy to use and clean. Fun addition to the kitchen aid! Definitely a crowd pleaser. Makes snow like ice, shaves it perfectly. Recommend for your next party. Kids and adults enjoyed this just the same. If only the kitchen aid itself was less bulky would keep this out on my counter. Recommend the storage containers to make the right size ice mound to fit inside the canister. Read more

Great homemade shaved ice

LeileDevOctober 14, 2025✓ Verified purchase

My son loves how easy it is to make shaved ice with this. The ice comes out delicate and fine, whereas some of our previous equipment would create larger/crunchier chunks that made it feel like you were sucking on a mouthful of small ice cubes (not a great experience). We bought some off-brand refill cups just to have more servings available at a time. They were a bit smaller but worked fine. Read more

Good for snow cones, less so for Bingsu or Hawaiian Shave Ice

TEAMCHINAAugust 23, 2023✓ Verified purchase

Decided to let Bezos hold some of my money and try this out - my research online was inconclusive and photos/videos don't really do justice to things like texture so I figured I had to dive in to try it out. The good: It's easy to use and "just works" (provided you already have a stand mixer) There are four molds provided, so you can stockpile the little frozen pucks more conveniently It's fast: it makes short work of the little pucks It's just an attachment for your stand mixer so it doesn't take up much space in storage The bad: Each puck is only good for MAYBE a small shave ice that you would get from a truck or shop in Hawaii The components don't feel sturdy, I imagine this would last a year or two at most with just summer usage and the molds for the ice are paper thin plastic - these things are going to easily crack/shatter if you aren't extra cautious with them. This is the deal breaker for me, but even with the fine attachment the ice is still crunchy. This is a fine product and it does what it advertises; what it doesn't advertise clearly is the texture of the final product, but really I'm only docking a star for the durability (or lack thereof). If you and your family love snow cones then this might be perfect for you but it's no replacement for a proper shave ice machine. (Great Northern Popcorn makes a model, the "Snow Cub" that's been a pleasant surprise for me and it's only $250... compared to the $1500-2k for a Fujimarca, which is what most shops in Hawaii use) Read more
