KitchenAid Variable Speed Corded Hand Blender KHBV53 Blue Velvet

This blender was easy to snap together and blended pretty well. It’s my first time using an immersion blender and it didn’t take me long to figure out how to use it. You have to keep the blade head submerged to avoid splashing. The pan guard attachment discolored and warped on the first use. I was blending a carrot and potato soup on the stove. The hot liquid definitely stretched the pan guard and it fell off several times. Now it doesn’t attach snugly anymore. I called Kitchenaid today for support and they explained the pan guard us actually being discontinued because it’s not really necessary. The scalloped edge of the blade head keeps the blade above the pan and will not scratch. But they still have some of the pan guards in stock so they’re sending me a new one anyway. The directions don’t say to wait for soup to cool before blending but it’s just a plastic piece so I would suggest waiting for it to cool a little if you like using the guard. Otherwise you might melt/warp it and they won’t have any in stock to replace it eventually when its completely discontinued. . It’s a good hand blender and I like the push power button in an ergonomic grip that makes it comfortable to use. It’s very comfortable and easy to just push with my thumb and release when you want to stop. I have small hands and a weak wrist but I could use this without trouble. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I blended lots of tomatoes with peel cold and cooked with this . It don’t let you down it shreds the tomatoes into a sauce that I archived before only with a blender! I love it and so many more uses for it. It’s not too heavy to hold and it don’t fall apart after a few uses I got it while I was on middle of canning ! Glad I found it! Read more

This was my Christmas gift to me. It is a beautiful blue . I used it for the first time the other day on my sweet potato casserole and all I can say is WOW!!! It has a lot of power, is easy to use and my potatoes were silky smooth. No lumps at all. Also the price was great. I love it as much as I love my mixer and it is not heavy. The only problem I had was trying to keep the pan protector from falling off. Gonna have to practice on that one. Donna Read more

Great power! I can even use it to make smoothie bowls grinding up frozen fruit. Love the color, easy to wash, long enough cord. I’m not a huge fan of needing to press two buttons at once, making it harder to use with one hand. Other than that, this is a great kitchen tool at a good price. I haven’t found another in this price range with as much power. And I didn’t want to go all in for the Vitamix one. Read more

I first bought one that froths and is supposed to blend, but was not strong enough to blend powders into liquid. This one does the trick. Also I like that it plugs in and uses electricity.
