Nothing Fancy

These sheets are just okay. I’m not blown away by them and I probably wouldn’t recommend these exact sheets to a friend. However, if you’re looking for a basic fitted sheet to just throw on a bed with other pieces of bedding (blankets, comforters) these will work. I have a regular full sized bed and have never had any trouble with putting on other fitted sheets, but the way this one fit is a little odd. The corner darts stick up instead of settling down against the mattress, even with plenty adjusting. Overall, it seemed like the elastic fitted part of the sheet fit fine, but there was too much fabric to the body of it. While the fitted sheet was weirdly roomy, the pillowcases are almost too small. I have standard sized pillows and tried one pillowcase on a flat-ish pillow and one on a fluffier, thicker pillow. Even with the flatter pillow it seemed like I had to work hard to make sure there wasn’t a gap in the envelope opening. Because these sheets are black, a gap in the pillowcase opening showing a white pillow really draws the eye. Unpackaging this bedding I found a lot of loose threads, both attached to the bedding and loose threads in other colors, and there was a strong smell, so these went straight into the wash. There aren’t any tags at all, so no washing instructions - I just used the same settings that I usually do for sheets. Read more
