Let me start to say that the delivery was fast. The mat arrived very well packaged. It was easy to roll out, as soon as I laid it on the floor it started to get flat. Once it was on the floor it looks sheer almost invisible. The chair glides very easily and very smooth. The mat feels sturdy. If you put lots of pressure on the chair it will leave an indentation but it lift very quickly. It is easy to clean. I even use it for other purposes, as a floor covering when crafting and sewing. I tried on bare floor which is what this mat is designed for and also in carpet, I had similar experiences on both surfaces, the only difference is that on carpet tend to slide a bit, because it doesn't have the carpet grips. This mat does the job well, chair rolls smoothly over the mat, and floor is protected. Unlike others, I had no problem unrolling it out of the box. For those that complain that it doesn't work on a carpeted/rug surface read the description, it is only made for a hard surface floor. That said, I did try it on our carpet, and I found it to be ok, but it slid around a bit since there are no grippers. Again, it's not meant for carpet so it shouldn't have them. This mat is in a fantastic value, but it is thin and flexible, so chairs won't roll super easily on top of it. No big deal to me, but if you're looking for something more substantial, where the chair glides easily back and forth, you might want to consider a thicker mat with beveled edges. This one's just fine for my use at home to preserve the carpet. It's a good product. Impossible to comment on longevity. Please note, a thicker mat will be twice as much. Read more
Definitely needed to let it warm up to lay flat! It came rolled, which i figured it would. However, that roll was tight and it took a couple days of 70+ temps in my house and me rolling over it with a chair to flatten it out. I would say maybe a week to be completely flat. It does move a bit but I did figure out would because it was on a flat floor. I tucked the front corners under my cabinets to try and hold it into place and that had worked with no issue. It came in a roll, and no matter how much I try to flatten it, it retains the curl when laid out. I am going to keep trying. Maybe heating it up with a hairdryer and bending it backwards. Very frustrating. Read more
The was very thin. When I set the chair on it the chair’s wheels sunk into it and the carpet and locked the wheel in place. It was easier to move the chair on the carpet than it was on this mat over the carpet. It would be good on a hard wood floor if you want to protect them from the wear and tear of an office chair. I’ve had this mat for 2 weeks now and sending it back today. It never flattened out, the plastic is too hard and not pliable. I’ve worked on it every day for 10 days and the one end is still sticking up and the rest of the mat has ripples. Would not recommend. Also extremely hard to unroll when it first arrived. Takes 2 people. Going to a local office store today and buying a flat mat. Read more
