If Having Knee Replacement Surgery, You NEED A KneeSled!

HeleneNovember 30, 2025✓ Verified purchase

When my husband was preparing for knee replacement surgery, I came across the KneeSled and thought it might be helpful during his recovery. We brought it with us to the hospital, just in case. After the surgery, when the physical therapist came in, we asked if it was okay to use the "sled." It wasn’t just okay, she wanted to know where we got it so she could recommend it to her other patients! The next day, a second physical therapist came by, examined it, and asked the same question. My husband began using it in the hospital and continued once he was discharged. A third physical therapist, who came to our home for follow-up care, was also impressed. He had never seen one before, but after checking out its adjustability, he gave it his stamp of approval. Thanks to the KneeSled, my husband regained 90% of his knee’s range of motion in less than a week, two weeks ahead of his doctor’s expectations. For anyone considering this little piece of equipment, we received glowing endorsements from three different physical therapists. It’s easy to adjust, and it gives the user full control over the amount of stretch. My husband feels that pulling the cords with his hands allows for a deeper bend in his knee with less pain than simply sliding his foot on the bed. This gadget may be a bit on the pricey side, but, for us, it’s worth every penny for the role it is playing in my husband’s accelerated recovery. Update: During yesterday's Physical Therapy appointment, my husband's range of motion measured at 100 (that doesn't mean he's finished). Normal range of motion is from 120 to 150 degrees. He is way ahead of schedule. That was at 13 days. At his age, they were not expecting him to be in that range for at long time. Thank you KneeSled! Read more

Easy to use— can get more flexion with knee

Buffy from LouisianaApril 29, 2024✓ Verified purchase

I ordered this because i had total knee replacement . Achieving greater flexion quickly is so important after this surgery. The device is plastic and rope-but you put your foot in the device and pull your foot towards you with the handles to increase the flexion of the knee. It is a very simple design. It was expensive for what it is, and you could construct something similar for less money, but i wanted something easy to use. My home health PT had never seen one-and was impressed how much more flexion I was able to get in my knee by slow gentle continuous pressure by myself. It also slides easily on any fabric- (usually doing in bed post knee replacement). I got more flexion doing the pull myself than the. PT could forcing the flexion which is obviously more painful. I gave it 4 stars because of the price, but i figured if you divide that by the number of knees my husband and I will have it’s not so bad. Read more

Expensive, but a nice piece of rehab gear for your post knee-replacement exercises

Buckeye GuyApril 3, 2025✓ Verified purchase

This does as advertised. Like all home rehab equipment, you get out of it what you put into it. I use this every night before bed and it is helping put range back into my knee. Its better than just using straps with a towel. Its best to use with repetitive pulls to your pressure point, because it doesn't hold your knee flexed unless you're pulling on it. It is very overpriced in my opinion, but it is a quality product that does what its supposed to do. Read more

Not needed for knee replacement recovery

Didn’t really need this for my knee replacement recovery. Quality is ok, but not great. In retrospect, nice idea but not money well spent. I hardly used it. Read more

This is a great item for rehad for knee, hip and leg

FamOctober 25, 2023✓ Verified purchase

Update: we have since decided to keep this boat pt contraption. As it seems to allow movement for my leg that is hard to move without me asking for help. PROBLEM… my foot keeps sliding out of it. The strap that goes over the instep is worthless. It’s not big enough or secure enough. I put a Velcro strap around the boat to secure my foot which helps a ton but the problem is then it doesn’t glide. They need to secure a strap from one side of the plastic to the next. For small feet this boat is way to big. They need to make a smaller size. Almost a kids size. People don’t think about a variety of sizes using something. One size does not fit all. Test your product. On disabled people too. Like myself who need something like this. And stop price gouging so more people can buy it. It would be a win win. This item is way overpriced. It is not worth the price but if you need this type of item then it is a must have. If it was $45/$55 It would be closer to an ideal price value for what you get. They have price gouged customers because they know there isn't really anything like this out there. However, there is. Plastic plates and bungees. You can make your own at home for $5. This $90 item is just too expensive for most elderly who are on Medicare or those who may not have the insurance help or finance to blow $90.00. Sports people or wealthy can afford this but someone like me who really needs this ... who has MS and is elderly and disabled couldn't afford this on my retirement. - So, I will be returning it and they can gouge someone else. This is not worth it for me, and I will not recommend it my friends either who would find great benefit in it either.... because I know they too couldn't afford it. Read more
