You can fold them and not feel any wetness on the other side of the cloth, even after they’ve taken on a lot of liquid. The thin white ones are fine for drool or a quick clean up, but they are one and done, and when placed over the shoulder will transfer moisture to your clothing. These are thick, soft, very absorbent, and the quality somehow improves after washing & drying a few times. Unlike the cheap white ones, these only shrunk less than an inch even when drying on high for several months. The photo has a 3 month old cloth on top and the new one on bottom. I love these burp cloths - they're bigger than many on the market and are thick enough that you can use them several times before having to wash. I bought some very similar ones with the muslin on one side and white terry cloth on the other and the layers separated after one wash. These are muslin on both sides and have held up very well with several washes. I keep them next to the rocker, the bed, in the diaper bag and the car.
