The see-through design lets you watch electricity do its thing, which feels both educational and vaguely forbidden. Week one. Candles only. Birthday candles. Scented candles. That one candle you forgot you owned. Five stars. Responsible. Mature. Week two. I notice it lights anything that wants to be lit. Twine. Incense. Grill starters. Campfire kindling. Old receipts. These work SO well. The narrow, long shape make them quite adept at lighting the most burned down candles! I like the safety features: there is a switch you turn on, and then a button you have to push to actually activate the lighters. And when powered on, there is a bright light that reminds you to turn it off afterwards. With two in the pack, these are quite well-priced. They feel well-made and solid and the translucent housing makes them looks slightly futuristic and neato. They are on my list of stocking-stuffer gifts for the family. The arc is about a quarter inch from the end of the lighter. As long as what you are lighting fits in between the arc points it will ignite after a few seconds. If you put it onto a candle and the wick isn't long enough to touch the arc you will have to scrape out wax until you can make contact. This lighter doesn't generate enough heat to melt the wax away. As long as you can touch what ever you are lighting to the arc it will light easily. I was even able to light some incense cones with little effort. The battery seem good. I held the button down for a good 10 second to see if the arc would wane and it stayed solid the whole time. It does cut off after 10 seconds, I'm guessing to keep from overheating. Read more

Awesome, was so tired of trying to light my deep candles with gas lighters... Never even realized this existed still I started googling best candle lighters. Well, im pleasantly surprised how awesome these are, especially for the low price. They look almost like high tech mini tasers. U just flip the switch on and click the small super clicky and satisfying button to make it ignite. Charges with usb-c. Works super good and again getting two of them for this price is great. They hang well with the hook ends. Only complaints would just be that they have a very small battery and the buttons are nearly impossible to see on the black shell. Not a big deal, but if they wanted to make the buttons a color that stands out I wouldn't be mad about it. I can charge these anytime with stuff i have lying around everywhere so no big deal on the smaller battery, and it still seems to be lasting plenty fine. If these die in a year I will buy them again without a second thought. If they die in the next couple months I will look for a higher quality version. Either way I am sold on the arc lighter style and will continue to use this type of lighter for candles and such. Read more
