This is simply an attractive, seashell-shaped night light that has a photocell which turns the light on when it gets dark, and off when it's light. The shell is clear glass, which makes it a bit more of a safety concern, as it does stick out into the hallway a bit more than others I've used. The bulb, which is only a globe, not an actual bulb, is frosted white. There is a button on the side to switch from high to medium to low intensity, and another small built-in light at the bottom to shed light on the floor or counter or sink, etc., (a nice feature). The primary concern I have is that ordinary glass lightbulbs and LED ones both stop working after some time. Glass lightbulbs are easily replaced (and can even be different colors). Not so with LED chips. If you don't mind paying the current price of about $20US for an entire new unit, then it's not a problem. Bottom line is that this is an attractive night light, that is adjustable for brightness, and the photocell that turns it on or off worked perfectly in my hallway and kitchen areas. This night light is definitely worth the price. It has a number of features that make it much more versatile and functional than any of my traditional style night lights. It has a light sensor, so it goes off when there is enough light or sunlight to illuminate the area. It is also adjustable, so when it is on, it can be set to meet the needs for wherever it has been installed. The shell cover is realistic in shape and is glass, so it not only looks good, but it functions well to disperse soft light, and it can be rotated. There is a downward pointed light as well, which makes this light good for hallways, where safety is a plus. The bulb does not come out, but it is an LED which means it will last a very long time. When it does eventually fail, it looks as if the unit will need to be replaced, but I have found that LED bulbs tend to last for years, so I still believe this is a good choice. This is a very cute night light that comes with 3 brightness levels. It has a light sensor so it turns on and off automatically. The seashell glass diffuses the light and also adds a stylish element to it. My husband remarked that it seems to come out of 90s design catalog.
