La Blanca Womens Island Goddess Ruffle Bandeau One Piece Swimsuit

So glad I listened to the reviews and ordered this suit! I have been buying and returning suits all summer. Usually I wear a Size 6 petite Lands End suit-size 8 if it is a slender suit or a tummy control. I am almost 5-1 inches and weigh about 118. Regular suits never fit me well because the torso is so long . But I took a chance on this one, listening to other reviews-the suit does run long so I was skeptical but one review from a shorter person like myself said to order based on hip size, which I did and if in between sizes to order down. I ordered the size 6 and was I surprised to find it was a keeper. Here's why- First the straps are adjustable so torso fit can be shortened. Shirred waist I had pretty much given up on because most of other suits bunched and made me look worse than if no shirring at all. Not this suit- shirring is very flattering. Next the cups are sewn in and are really comfortable-no moving around if you do laps--The ruffle is also very flattering because it tends to hide any mid drift issues. All and all this is a winner--I dont usually write reviews but I felt I really needed to for this suit since it really was because of all the reviews I read that caused me to take the chance! I absolutely love the look and fit of this swim suit! It's cut in an extremely flattering way that helps contain my less-than-tight mommy tummy. It's also not cut too high in the hips or butt. The ruffle at the top is a great feature for my smaller chest, especially since it's tighter to accommodate the strapless option of this suit. I wouldn't wear this suit without straps, though, so I can't speak to how well it would stay up without them. The criss-cross lacing in the back is a nice addition to make this suit more unique. For sizing, this swimsuit runs quite small! I'm normally a 4-6, and ordered a 6. While I can squeeze into it, there's no question that an 8 would've been a better fit, especially if I wanted to wear it strapless. It’s so tough to order swimsuits on-line, but this one is impressive and makes it easy - it has a great build so can look good, feel good on lots of body types - La Blanca Island Goddess Ruffle - Black - 8. It’s flattering with solid double-layered fabric support. It settles with some all-over shirring, the shoulder straps are adjustable, also removable - perfect. Even though I’m a smaller cup size there’s still a good comfortable hold when strapless. The ruffle is a nice feature, also fun is a cross-tie that runs down the back. It looks best when I adjust the ruffle to hit high and cross the straps in the back. I’m 5’5” 135 lbs, 34 A/B, 32” waist, 38” hips - size 8 is perfect. Read more

UPDATE: I’ve been wearing this suit since I received it and I love it! It’s well made, comfortable, and flattering. First one piece and I love it! I’d recommend this to a friend! 💕 I’ve had a hard time going from bikinis to one pieces as I get older. Mostly because I wasn’t finding any that I found very flattering. But I’m really happy with this suit. It’s simple, flattering, and cut well. Im a 34 D chest so I was worried the ruffle on top might add more to my chest but it doesn’t. It’s flattering and doesn’t make me look any bigger. The lace up back is just enough to be flattering and the cut on the bottom is nice. Not like grandma briefs. I’m a bathing suit snob and love the brand LaBlanca. This bathing suit did not disappoint. I’m 5’9 and 165 ish lbs and ordered the size 12. LaBlanca bathing suits run true to size, do not order one size up like some cheaper brands. I ordered the red, and I’d say it’s a bright orangey red, very pretty. Top is ruffled all the way around, with a lace up back. Bathing suit is machine washable, but personally I always hand wash my suits to keep them in great shape. An expensive suit like this will last for many seasons if taken care of. You get what you pay for. Beautiful, classic style. Read more
