Genuinely cool and surprisingly useful
The media could not be loaded. This thing is just cool. I really like it. The flame ignites reliably every time with the trigger, and the flame adjustment ranges from practical everyday use all the way up to mini lightsaber. The lock feature helps prevent accidental ignition, and you can also lock the trigger while it’s lit so you don’t have to keep holding it down. The extra built-in tools are a bonus too, including the knife, screwdriver, and bottle opener—or, as the box labels it: part “12. open the beer.” There are no instructions included in the box, but everything you need is printed on the packaging itself and it’s intuitive. The box is translated from Chinese and while completely understandable, some of the wording is unintentionally amusing. Still, it’s enough to figure things out without any trouble. I tested it outside in some wind (enough to blow leaves around), and it still lit and held a steady flame without issue. It also gets things very hot, very quickly—more than enough for tasks that require a strong, concentrated flame. It’s easy to refill with standard butane like Ronson or Bernzomatic once you lift the cigar cutter out of the way to access the refill port on the bottom. This would be great for lighting grills and bonfires, and it could also handle more demanding tasks where a strong torch flame is useful. The tank is large enough that you’re not constantly refilling it, which makes it more practical than smaller novelty lighters.
