Great purchase, well-designed and engineered electric shaver. After having it a week, I’ve grown to really like it. It renders a nice close shave, hasn’t irritated my skin and has a nice sturdy weight and an ergonomic form. It’s made of metal and is accompanied by an adapter for trimming longer hairs or days worth of not shaving. I found both blades to be effective at hair removal, it’s a decent shaver with nice effective sharp blades. It charged very quickly via USB/C and holds that charge well, it’s still going in the original charge. Blades are attached magnetically so they stay intact well without popping off. To top it off, it’s waterproof and can be easily rinsed with hot water for cleaning. I think this is a great item. It’s so well designed that it inspired me to research more of the brands products. They also make toothbrushes, among other things. Lastly, the price was great! I bought it on Black Friday and it was only $112 instead of $150. Much more affordable than the standard close shaving electric razor. It’s not the best I’ve ever used, but it’s also half of the price. Read more

I deal with daily light stubble and have been a faithful user of another brand of electric shaver for years. I've been using the other shaver dry and while it cuts close, it certainly does not compare to a traditional razor shave. This is where the Laifen T1 Pro Electric Shaver shines. I purchased it when it was available because of the great experience I had with the Laifen Wave Toothbrush and this shaver did not disappoint. The packaging and product again takes a page from Apple’s design and esthetic. If Apple made a shaver, it would look and feel like this down to the Space Grey color finish. The entire shaver is smooth and has a premium weight and feel to it. There is a single button for on/off operation and the same button is used to turn on Airplane Mode (you just hold the button down for a few seconds until the Airplane icon light is illuminated). The shaver head can easily be swapped to the trimmer head by pulling it off/on - it attaches to the shaver unit through magnets. There are 3 guards of different lengths that can snap on/off the trimmer head. The bottom of the unit has a protective cap that houses the USB-C port for charging. The shaver comes with a woven USB-C Charger cable that looks exactly like Apple’s cables. Like the toothbrush, this shaver does not come with a travel case. It is available for purchase separately. It also does not come with a stand, which is also available to purchase separately. At the premium price that this shaver is being offered for, it would be logical to include these two items. However, I understand that these additional accessories aren’t necessities but rather they are nice to have. Still, I would have liked to see them be included standard with the shaver. The shaver itself is powerful and cuts much closer than the other electric shaver, even when using it dry. When turning it on, you immediately feel the powerful motor drive the blades in the shaver head. It cuts close without excessively pressing down against the skin. The cutting angles of the shaver head cuts exceptionally well against stubble that typically I would press harder on with the other shaver. I have no complaints about the operation of this shaver. It is comfortable to use and shaves well. Unlike its toothbrush counterpart, there is no accompanying mobile app for more controls/features. The shaver simply operates through a basic on/off control. I will likely purchase the travel case and stand as this has become my go-to shaver. The high build quality and greater cutting effectiveness on stubble make this an easy replacement over my old shaver. Read more

Update: Laifen has some good customer service and reached out with some additional instructions on proper usage. They mentioned holding the razor at a 90 degree angle and to go against the grain. This proved to be helpful. Upping the rating from 2 to 4 I really wanted to like this one!!! I love the form factor. It’s got such a gorgeous design and it feels really solid in your hand. I thought I’d upgrade from $20 Phillips oneblade I got from target. But after doing several passes this blade missed a lot of hairs. With my current shaver, it doesn’t do as close of a shave, but it gets all of the hairs on my face. I don’t grow a huge amount of hair as you can see in the picture, so I thought I’d be good. If it can’t shave all my hairs then I can’t use it as my daily driver. Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to return it. Read more

EDIT: The company contacted me and asked if I would like to try the Pro model as it'd be a better match for my face. I will say the Pro does cut my stubble much faster, smoother, and closer. Its slightly less precise for edging due to the form factor, but it is every bit as well built as original shaver. I think the Pro ends up working better because much larger blades and larger reciprocating stroke. As I said in my initial review, the form factor is very impressive and there's nothing quite like it one the market. I think the key is getting the correct one for your face! USB-C, power delivery, lockout, and a long lasting Lithium battery make this and impressive product. In full transparency, they did not ask me to modify my review or attempt to bribe me in exchange for my review; If the Pro version didn't work out, I would have just written about that experience here or returned the product to them to keep things honest. I can say I'm very impressed with the two products and do recommend them. Original: Pretty Good, but don't expect a 10x shaving performance over something you can get at Walmart for 1/3 of the price. What you're buying here is the compact form, but it shaves just like any other shaver. I wanted something compact with USB-C and a Lithium Battery, so this does do the job. The first one I purchased wouldn't turn on after charging. It made this weird click noise like an old clock, and there was actually no way to stop it. I thought the battery would eventually die. I plugged it in and that seemed to stop the ticking. I filed for an Amazon return and the replacement does work. Read more
