I have been trying to find a decent undershirt for a few years now. In the end, the Lands End shirts are finally my choice going forward. So I thought I would share my experience with some other brands and to what led me here. First off, I am a 6'0 male, 180 lbs and bought size large. They run bigger and I could have purchased a medium to fit tighter but I prefer the roomier fit of the large. All of these shirts are 100% cotton. Calvin Klein- was my first choice until they changed their design. The material and fit were OK but they screwed up the sleeves in a recent design change and instead of having them point out, they pointed them down, resulting in binding when I raised my arms. Plus they shortened the sleeves to like half the length they were. No longer acceptable. Eddie Bauer- Well made shirts with good length and room. Sleeves were good, material was thick. Cons- the material was stiff and scratchy and had side seams in the body of the shirt. Felt cold wearing them so did not like wearing them. Plus they were the most expensive shirt to buy by like double. Hanes- clearly the thinnest shirt out there. You could easily see through it. Hanes used to be my go to brand years ago but they have continued to make these shirts as cheaply as possible and still sell them as shirts. For reference, I think gas station toilet paper is thicker. Lands' End- Fit and finish on these shirts is good with generous room. It has good material, soft and fairly thick with no side seams. The sleeves point out and are of decent length. The neck is fine, not too big or too small, no binding. Cost is reasonable. Length is a little long ending maybe an inch above the crouch but I wear these shirts always tucked in so not an issue for me. Overall, I like the shirt and will continue buying them in the future. These shirts are soft and comfortable out of the bag. I am 6’0” 258 lbs and they fit me perfectly. Even though they feel thin (which I like) they feel well made (like a heavier shirt) but minus the weight, thickness and more comfortable. I will be buying another three-pack soon and retiring some older shirts. Only negative is they show sweat quickly but the color I got and cotton not surprised but honestly that really isn’t a negative because I thought to myself, who cares :). I believe these are going to be those shirts once they get more ware and slightly thinner will become a favorite to put on. Highly recommend. Seller is lands-end so no issues there and shipping was excellent as always. Great job Amazon. Read more

Lands' End has a winner of a T-shirt here. Looks good either under another shirt or by itself. I would get them again. Read more

I have a Lands End winter parka I bought in 1998. It shows no signs of wear and is still quite warm. It is so well made that when I saw these undershirts from Lands End, I wanted to try them. I am tall and thin (6’2” and 174) and have a hard time finding good undershirts in size large tall. The material in these shirts is very good, clearly high quality. Unfortunately, for my build, the neck opening is huge and when worn under a dress shirt that’s not buttoned all of the way to the top, the undershirt collar noticeably hangs down or gaps. I remember seeing a commercial once where a company referred to this as a “bacon collar” and I think that’s a good way to describe what happens with these Lands End shirts. If you button your dress shirt all the way to the top, then it would not be an issue as no one would see the bacon collar. But I rarely have to wear a tie to work so I don’t button my shirts all of the way to the top. I really like the overall fit of these Lands End shirts - great length in the body and sleeves. I wish the collar was tighter. Read more
