My husband has a quite thin (and somewhat smaller) exercise mat, and it's textured on both sides, so it's not very comfortable. This mat is several levels above the one he's been using. Even though it's 6' x 4', it's not all that heavy, so it's easy to move. The strap has elastic sections that are easy to slide around the mat when it's rolled up, and a wide, non-stretch handle for carrying. The bottom side of the mat has some texture to keep it from sliding on a tile or wood floor, but the top is smooth and won't rough up your skin. The amount of cushioning is impressive - like a super-comfortable and supportive pair of insoles. It's easy to balance on, yet soft enough that it's comfortable to kneel on it. It's large enough that you could exercise on it together with a toddler or small child. I ordered this yoga mat for yoga and stretching before/after pickleball. First impressions: Generous footprint (6' x 4') The extra-large dimensions are perfect for my use-case. There’s ample room for full-body flows, wide stances, and dynamic stretches without feeling boxed in. I could move from something like lunges to core work without repositioning myself or worrying about hands/feet landing off the mat. No chemical smell out of the box A small but meaningful win—there was no noticeable odor when unboxing, so it was ready for use in an indoor space without the usual air-out period. Stable, grippy surface The texture offers confident traction when both barefoot or wearing socks. Transitions feel secure, and the mat stays put on hard floors. Comfort: Cushioning strikes a nice balance: soft enough to make seated forward folds, kneeling poses and longer holds comfortable, yet supportive. It keeps wrists happier in planks and downward dog, and provides a pleasant, protected surface for hamstring and hip-opening stretches on the floor. Slow to lay flat After unrolling, it took quite a bit of time for the ends to relax and lie fully flat. The curl didn’t impact basic sessions, but for meticulous alignment (e.g., balancing poses or blocks at the edge) it was a mild annoyance during the first few uses. Storing it unrolled for several days, rolling in the opposite direction, or placing light weights at the corners helps. This is expected when a mat ships in a box and temps vary during storage/shipment. Bulk when rolled This is not an issue for me, as I excercise at home, but the sheer size means that, even with a strap, it’s not the most compact to carry or store. If you often take your mat to classes, keep the transportability in mind. For home use, it’s excellent. I give this yoga mat 4 stars and a buy rating. In addition to the to positives mentioned previously, this mat is also a good value. So, if you’re looking for spacious comfort during stretching and yoga sessions, this oversized mat could be the answer. Read more

The strap is elastic and will made the mat is super thin and wants to roll back up on itself. After several days of use without rolling it back up, it's still trying to recoil. The thinness gives little to no support from the flooring underneath. The mat feels strong and durable. Read more

I got this as an extra mat to help with my daughter and her tumbling learning her her backbend walkover. We used it for the first time last night. It was super easy to unroll it and let it sit even though it's been rolled up the entire time in the box and it didn't have any unwanted smell or anything, which was a good thing. Read more

I was looking for a more spacious surface for home workouts. It’s significantly wider than typical mats, providing plenty of room for HIIT, stretching, and floor exercises. The thickness has excellent cushioning to protect my knees and spine while also dampening floor noise. I really like the dual-texture non-slip surface. The top has a secure grip for my hands and feet, while the bottom stays firmly anchored to hardwood or carpet. Since it's made of non-porous POE material, it doesn’t absorb sweat and is very easy to wipe clean. Read more

This large mat provides plenty of space for a wide range of workouts and, in my case, extra room for my kids to work out next to me :) While the mat is thin, it's dense enough to provide sufficient cushion to protect the joints and hard impacts. The mat has a wavy grip on one side to prevent sliding and is textured on the other side for grip. Overall, this is a high-quality large mat. Read more
