My wife is a fan of black tote bags. She uses one every day and we were hoping this would be a worthy replacement for the eventual demise of her current every day carry. Unfortunately, despite having several good qualities, the straps for carrying the bag will stop her from using this every day. She explained that they are rough and uncomfortable - with any weight in the bag, those straps dig into her shoulders - they'd be better if they were finished with a more comfortable, softer material. There's a lot to like with the rest of the bag. It's got lots of pockets - a small one with velcro fastener on the outside for easy-to-find essentials - phone, keys, etc; 3 open pockets on the inside - one full width and two half width, and one more full width zippered pocket; and 2 more open pockets on the sides of the bag - suitable for umbrella and water bottle. The zippers - one on top that closes the bag, and one for the zippered pocket on the inside - are decent quality, but not exceptional. They sometimes snag while using them. The stitchwork is ok - stray threads in many places and the thread has relatively high weight (so it is thin). There's also a strap with velcro fasteners in the middle of the bag that you could use as a short handle or to secure a towel or yoga mat, using a buckle on the opposite side. When not in use, it dangles off the side of the bag - my wife said she would have cut it off if she planned to use the bag every day. As it stands we can still use it as a utility bag, like when we go grocery shopping, for example. But in light of what we've discovered, the $30 price tag (at the time of this review) is steep for the value we'll get out of it. A quick search on Amazon reveals only a couple at that price or higher. The vast majority are half to 2/3rds the price, with similar features and better handles. Shop around! Read more

This is a basic gym bag, a step up from using a reusable grocery bag but worlds away from anything found at the yoga pants store. Basics: Yeah, its pretty basic. Back back with one large compartment. There is an internal divider that seems to be meant for something thin and flat but by thin I mean two pieces of paper, not an iPad. There are two "pockets" on the divider that I think are meant for shoes but not for large ones. And by large I mean beyond a women's 5. There is a small zipper pocket you could put a wallet/keys/phone in. On the outside there is one small external pocket and two water bottle pockets at either end. If you had VERY small feet you might be able to put shoes in the water bottle pockets. Because Im slow I couldn't figure out what the strange single strap was all about. Its for a yoga mat. Duh! Plenty of room - see picture, banana for scale - but you will need to organize things yourself. Build: Are you single? Well this bag is - as in single stitched. To be fair, there are very few seams its just they are all single stitched. The zippers are not YKK but the main one seems pretty sturdy. The little on for the interior pocket does not inspire confidence. Overall the build is OK. It wont win awards but its also not trying to. The fabric is pretty generic nylon that will take a decent amount of abuse. It should wash well and dry fast. Did I mention this is a basic bag? This is a bag for people going to the gym to work out, not a bag for going to the gym to be seen. Thats fine. Look no one is going to steal this bag. Heck if your gym has black lockers like mine does, they wont even see it! You can probably use it for 5 years before it gives up the ghost. Your cost per week will be exceptional. Read more

This is a great all purpose tote bag for every day or work. There’s a padded section on the interior that fits my ThinkPad perfectly. I like that the straps are long enough to comfortably fit over my shoulder. This bag is not very structured so would be easy to pack while traveling. That said, I do wish it at least had some structure in the base of the bag to give it shape. Color is jet black, so goes with everything. Seems like it would be easy to wash too. Read more
