This jump starter is a beast. It is very well made and will jump start an 8 liter gas engine and a 6 liter diesel engine. The charge last a long time and even after using it several times, the battery was still charged enough to use more. The size is small enough that it will slide under the front seats of most any car/SUV or truck, keeping it out of the way but accessible when needed. This thing is a must have for any vehicle. The price is competitive and well worth the money. One tow truck service call will almost pay for it. The cables are clearly marked with positive and negative making it very easy to use even for a beginner. Great item Read more

I ordered this Leaper 12V Jump Starter, Black Jump Starter 2000A, 20000mAh. Non-Polarized Green Clamps Protection Carrying Case and a UL PD65W Preminum Charger Included to replace one of those $30 units that claim 5000A, which had died (battery expanded so badly, the case was forced open). For a bit of background, I tend to leave things plugged in and that, combined with the lousy charging systems on today's vehicles, does lead to a few batteries without enough ummph to get the engine going - so, I try to keep a charger in each car. Upon arrival, I was pretty impressed with the packaging, assembly quality, materials quality and so forth. It is much heavier than other jump starters I have - manufacturer says it is 4.4 lbs, my others are probably less than a pound. I presume the greater weight is related to the lithium ion battery? Cabling from box to battery and those for charging other devices are well made, nice and thick, with solid connectors. Unusually, the Leaper includes USB-A cable, USB-C cable, and the appropriate high speed wall charger instead of just the cables. Instructions are available in a little pamphlet and a card is included with a link for warranty and detailed instructions (see below). The display window provides nice information - level of charge, voltage, battery temperature, and so on. The "non-polarity cables" are kind of interesting. Basically, you can connect either cable to either vehicle battery terminal and the unit will adjust accordingly - and, illuminate a light on the clamp telling which is - and which is +. Charging was fast as was using the starter to charge an android phone and an ipad (no dead car batteries yet). Connection to the car was easy. The manufacturer touts power of 2000A, with a storage of 20000mAH. 2000A's will start up to an 8.0L gas engine, so will be useful for all of my vehicles. So, why only four stars? Well, while I really like it, I'm not certain it rates as "outstanding". The first thing I ran into was the website to register your item for warranty - it requires a password but no information about where that is found. The other link, for detailed information, same thing. Additionally, price is concerning. The product looks good and has good specs - but, the price ($230, November 2025) is up to 10x more than some of the other widely available jump starters. Is it 10x better? That may depend on your needs. For us, the product appears to be good quality, good assembly, good features, and good specs. The price "seems" a bit high - but, it's lifetime value may lead to a reconsideration. The seller does, however, need to resolve the website issues. We rate it a good buy. Read more
The Nelsons—December 24, 2025
The Leaper 12V Jump Starter is a high quality unit all around. This extends to the packaging, materials, and overall build quality. It’s a heavy, well built charger with a beautiful clear display that includes visual instructions on how to use. The cables are thick and solid, the clamps grip well, and I really appreciated that it includes both USB-A and USB-C cables plus a proper fast wall charger instead of just throwing in cords and calling it a day. Using it has been straightforward and stress-free. The indicators are clear, the interface is simple, and it came charged and ready to go. I’ve used it on my Chevy Suburban 1500 and it turns the engine over without hesitation. Charging is quick, and everything packs neatly into the included case, which makes it easy to keep in the car. Overall, this feels like a properly built jump starter, not one of those lightweight units with inflated specs. It costs more than the bargain options, but it actually performs like you expect when you need it. Read more

The casing feels durable, the clamps bite well, and the unit shows clear indicators when it's ready to go. It comes charged and performs exactly like you need in an emergency. It turns over engines without hesitation and recharges quickly. The included case keeps it all tidy, making it a reliable tool for the price. I've reviewed a few of the a Leaper jump packs and they're all built really well with good looking and feeling finishes. The user interface is intuitive and simple. It just works. Never heard our e350 bus crank so fast, this pack is a beast Read more
