I ordered waist size of 33 rather than normal waist size of 34. It was a wise choice and considering the flex, a comfortable fit. In the absence of a short pants size to meet my need for 28 inches, I ordered the shortest listed for sale and did expect to receive pants much longer than I needed. I did make-do my tucking cuff under pant leg to compensate. I do recommend that shorter pants sizes be offered for sale. I have been looking all season for a pair of denim jeans which when said that the denim is soft and comfortable, that pair fills the demand just right. There is a strange odor which is said to come from the process which softens the denim. But a socking overnight in a solution of white vinegar and cool water followed by a several rinse-wash as directed rids this odor. As for the sizes on the waist, thigh, and length - are really true in fact. The waist fits just right as the size indicates (even after several washings which is not usually the case); the bottom, crotch, and thigh area have been the most comfortable of all jeans ever tried on. If in this case the length could have been 28", that would make the jeans perfect. I just don't care for any pants of any sort to hang below the heal of the shoes. I went on extensive research to find the perfect Jean. I was driven by the objectional weight and stiffness of most Jeans out there. I really wanted a daily wearer which was comfortable, medium weight and well made. This Lee Jean fit the bill to perfection. The weight and construction is superior, the belt loops are numerous and in the proper location. The pockets are deep and wide which is very important. They have only a touch of synthetic fabric to give them a bit of flex. The variety of colors (wash levels) is impressive. All in all a great Jean that I have purchased 4 pairs of knowing that once you find a superior Jean on the market buy what you need. Now I see that Amazon has a bunch of "out of stock" warnings displayed. My research included the big Maine outfitter jeans which were awful with too few belt loops, too much synthetic fabric, drooping rear pockets after wash etc. The IZOD Jeans were also inferior in my opinion. Really like Flex feature, nice fit at the waist. Felt like a nice pair of broken in jeans from day one, not skinny jeans tight but not loose and baggy either, not stiff or uncomfortable, not heavy duty work jeans. They remind me of how jeans used to fit in the '70's & 80's before everything became loose fit or baggy. The length was trues to size and not too long. I am a 29in. pant length. It is difficult, if not impossible, to find 29in. length jeans in Department stores. Being able to purchase jeans on Amazon at the proper length saves me having to pay a Taylor to shorten the jeans so they fit properly. Another great feature is the waistband has a little stretch which makes the jeans very comfortable if you’ve had a large meal. Overall great quality, great price and ships quickly. I'm 45 lbs lighter after a successful diet and badly needed some new jeans, going down from a size 38 to 34. These 34 jeans fit nearly perfectly all over, the seat, thighs, legs and waist, a nice lean look. I don't currently need the extra stretch in the waist but it's there if I gain a few lbs (but I won't ;). In my younger days, the thigh area might have been a bit tight because I had overly muscular thighs but, these days not a problem. They fit well on average sized thighs. Read more
