Great Castle

This is a great castle. It has lots of pieces, so you can take it apart and make lots of stuff. I have several lego sets, this is top quality. I do not like that lego has went away from base plates on this castle, but it is cool. This isn't a base plate type castle, it comes apart at its corners and is connected by technique pins which is pretty cool for play value. You can make this into several different play models so I guess that is why no baseplate, raised baseplates are what I am speaking of. The price is a little high, but all lego sets are. For the replay value and educational experience for kids I guess it isn't that bad. I would recommend this castle to a friend or fellow lego collector. I hope lego keeps up the quality of the fantasy era castle line all the sets have been great and this is no exception. This is big for a lego castle, the largest of my castles actually. I have a hard time displaying it, I have every piece of the fantasy era castle collection, this and the medevial market are my favorites. Read more

Nice lego set

This was a nice set that the kids enjoyed building on their own. It wasn't too complicated and actually had all the pieces. Mix up with billing was annoying, but in the end worked out. Read more

Fantastic castle

Lego castles have certainly come a long way over the last 30+ years. The castle is very well detailed overall (torches, catapults, flags, towers, etc.). However, I think I would have preferred to have the string and pulley system that the old school castles used. I realize that the chains look more realistic, it's just that the bricks that stick up when the drawbridge is up just doesn't look right. I'm glad that I got this castle with a large base plate because otherwise this castle might be a little difficult to move around. One thing that I have noticed is that newer age Lego castles seem to include less figures and belong with their respective castle in favor of including members of an opposing faction. Normally I'm really not a fan of this; but I'm fine with it in this case because this castle includes a dragon. These dragons are awesome; and so much bigger than the ones of the early 90's. The skeletons are an enemy faction are interesting, but their arms are a little limp. I did find it surprising that despite being an almost even ratio of good guys and bad guys that the bad guys don't get some kind of war machine; but the dragon probably more than compensates for that. The king is well designed, and the armor plate and cape in addition to the crown was a nice touch. The armored knight and horse look great too, as do the archers and foot soldiers. Read more

Fun and not to hard to build

My seven year old son and I built this castle over four nights. This by far was our first big Lego project and it was wonderful. The instructions were the usual Lego format and easy to read. I highly reccommend this product to seven year old kids and above. Also if your youngster has a little problem building (like mine), spend time with them and enjoy building or helping them with the instructions. It was well worth the money invested into a wonderful and durable product. I would also reccommend due to the price perhaps grandma and grandpa could buy it or a group of people pitch in to buy it. Enjoy and good luck on your purchase of this wonderful product. Read more

Too pricey

They r out of their minds. The costs of these 'toys' no longer makes it a toy but a collectors item for adult big boys. They are made for 5.00 over seas and marked 3,000 percent to take advantage of us Americans. Not a good buy. BEsides they put it together once and after a week 300.00 is wasted put it toward ur kids education or take them to Disney. or buy them the We2 Read more

Lego is KING

Lego is a great product, I have enjoyed them since I was young and I appreciate the ability to build structures from a plan that has been provided, but also to build something totally different based on my own imagination! Read more

Birthday gift for a lego loving 6 yr old

We bought the King's Castle siege set for my son's 6 yr birthday. He is an avid LEGO builder, and was ecstatic with it; he wanted to start working on it rather than open the rest of his presents. We had him put it together in chunks, and the set is conveniently broken down into sections, building the drawbridge section first, then the side towers, and so on. It took him about 5 hours all told over three days. He loves playing with it and the knights/skeletons that are included. A good large (if a bit expensive) gift for a lego fan. Read more

We really like this!

I bought this for my 8 year old son and he just loves it! It has now been two months since we got this and he and his two brothers are still playing with it most days and it is not broken, so to me that is a good sign that the toy is well made and interesting/stimulating. Although I think Lego is over priced my kids love playing with it for hours so I guess there is some value for money in that. Read more
