Worth a few re-watches

This movie is so much fun I watched it twice. It’s a nice comfort film when work gets too stressful. For the kids, it’s a fun superhero adventure, a classic Reverse Flash comes back in time to challenge Barry Allen romp that hits all the right marks. Part of it is a game of “name that supervillain” as we get a bunch of them in quick montage. The guy in the orange and black mask is Deathstroke, in case your kids don’t recognize him. He’s probably the least known of the bunch. For the adults, there is a sort of wink-wink humor to it. Barry calls out Reverse Flash on his name, for example “So you’re the slowest man alive?” and “Do you run in reverse?” Aquaman’s appearance was delightful. For the literary-minded, this is a play on the old-style morality plays, not just in that it teaches a moral lesson as many kids’ movies do, but in that it nods to the themes, such as how fickle humanity is, that are common in that genre. The brick nature, it being Lego, is referenced, but rather than being gratuitous, is organic to the plot. It’s entertaining enough, it won’t drive you crazy if your kids want to watch it every night for a month. Read more

Don't speed by this movie

I think this movie is great and puts FUN in funny. The Joker is whitty and the characters are fun. I thought they weren't quite fair on Superman and could have made him more like the man of steel and less like the man of aluminum foil. I dodn't get the singing part of the movie, but it was good to hear a familiar voice playing the assistant. All-in-all I will give the movie a 5 star rating because although it has some parts I think odd, I really enjoyed it and hope that they make more movies. My favorite scene is the joke played on Batman. Read more

If your kiddos love the Lego movies, they will love this.

I bought this for my kiddo because she loves the Lego movies and she loves the Flash. The movie was cute enough. For adults the story line is a bit "seen it" (ground hogs day) but for kiddos its a good story, they haven't "seen it". But its interesting enough to hold an adults attention so you can enjoy it with your kiddo. It's a pretty fast paced story and very cute. Read more
