This is one of those "tools of war" that got very little screen time in any of the Star Wars movies. But what a machine! It was only in action for a few seconds in episode 3, but had my full attention the whole time. I was very excited when Lego came out with a kit of the "Turbo Tank" Yes I know, technically it's not a tank ( fully tracked armored fighting vehicle ), but an armored car. Who cares? Because a picture is worth 1,000 words, I'll keep this review short and sweet until I can post some pictures. In short, this is a very good kit. It is a complicated build so help from an adult is highly recommended. It is very sturdy and handles being played with very well. Lots of hidden compartments and "extra stuff". Over all, one of the best Lego kits I've built to date. More to follow... Update review with photos 11/30/16 Now with the aid of photos, I can show exactly how "playable" this kit is. All ten wheels move freely, and with the use of the "handle", has a full range of motion. The handle is the design feature that makes this and other kits with the handle feature a game changer. The finished kit is a little heavy. By adding a handle to a very sturdy internal frame, the Tank can be picked up, moved around, and driven without worrying about parts falling off (unless you drop it). Hidden compartments... Cockpit opens and can hold up to three figures, rear gunner position opens and can hold one figure (nice touch with the coffee machine), hidden compartment just in front of rear gunner position hold a weapons/ammo box, and both sides open to reveal a walker. Six bags of bricks and 130 page assembly guide makes this a long build. About 20+ hours is a good average. Read more
Right, this is a big set. I have a few UCS sets that are either the same size as this or smaller. It took me roughly 4 hours to put it together, and it was a fun build along the way. There were plenty of points where I was expecting this piece to have that function, but it had a completely different use. The wheels are a fun setup, as only two of then are actually affixed to the rest of the tank. The remaining eight have friction-less connections that cause them to swivel and "climb" uneven terrain. Comparing this with the builds of previous Turbo Tanks, the build of this one is more akin to the Star Destroyers, with Technic framework clipped onto System shells. As a result, it's a sturdy build that has all the angles that make it look true to the source material. Overall, this is one of the sets I have purchased for form, function, and minifigs. The detail on Luminara and Quinlan is really nice. The only complaint I have for the figures is that Quinlan's hair isn't THAT unkempt. Fortunately, I have a hairpiece (Hermione Granger's hairpiece, just in black) that fits much better, and his hairpiece instead went to Baze Malbus from the AT-ST walker. Read more
Great product! We have purchased similar sized sets in the past (AT-TE, AT-AT). While those sets were very good, this set is better because, unlike the walkers, it is much easier to move and actually play with this set. In fact, it is so much fun, that we have considered getting another one. The only downside to this set is that I would like to see at least 1-2 more camouflage clone troopers included. Read more
Ever since I was a kid, I've always want this. Finally I got a hold on this lego product. Honestly I had a 100% satisfaction toward this. Build quality is excellent, price pretty great I brought for only $80. I love how you can open the tank almost completely. Smaller in size but I don't own other model of this so all I can say is 👍. Brand new, original lego. Perfect condition, even box was brand new and sealed. Shipping timing was really efficient and quick. Vendor answer my questions and was really helpful!. My 11 year old son loves it! he loves legos and is very skillful assembling them . He really enjoys playing with the Clone Turbo Tank. It took him around 2.5 hours with a brake, he enjoyed every minute of it. He says it has unique lego pieces. It wasn’t easy, it was a challenge at times but a really good experience. This set was amazing. it was very easy to build but very fun as well. there are so many great features, like the tower at the top that elevated and rotates, and the dual cockpits. it is very durable as well, and unless you try to, it won't break. although expensive, I highly recomend this set Read more
Great LEGO set to get, it might be expensive, but the minifigures, AT-RT, and of course the Turbo-Tank are great assets to your clone army and lego collection. Great for stop motion videos and modification, my brothers and I modified the main hull and front room to hold 8 more men- comfortably. Great playability as well. Read more
