I always wanted a pull up bar but I live in an apartment and can’t screw into the door frames. I finally came across this style and thought it was worth a try. It works perfectly! As others said, the instructions are not that clear but once you get it up properly it is SOLID. I’ve been hanging and doing pull ups on this for a couple weeks now and I haven’t heard a creak or felt any kind of movement at all. Feels totally reliable. The basic idea setting it up is to get everything loose and unscrewed to the approximate width of your door, then wedge it in there and rotate the center of the bar to put extra tension in. I screwed it until I heard a slight compression of the wood then stopped. Then you need to get the little plastic pieces back in their lock grooves and then lock down the metal levers on both sides. Most favorite thing of my kid. Absolutely love itZ very sturdy, and can take up the weight. Ensure to use it with care and remember that it rolls on tbe other side to loosen up, which is pretty much the case with any bar. Read more
Bought this a couple months ago. Installed on door frame, good cushion for Grip, stayed securely on door jam, good to use (about 25 times). Went to hang today, lifted legs to 90 degrees, bar fell and I landed on my head. Currently waiting to see if I have a concussion. I am a woman that weighs 120 pounds. Just beware of this product. This is very well made and Installing it made me a little nervous, because there obviously is a lot of force on the doorframe, and there was a fear of the wood cracking. My walls are concrete, so the wood in the doorway couldn't give much. You may see some separation of the wood in the door frame when fully tightening the bar, but just do it slowly. MAKE SURE you have a very sturdy doorframe before attempting to install this. The bar has levels on either side, which is very convenient, as it can be a pain making sure it's perfectly level. I use it for dead hangs and it works well for me. I weigh around 140 lbs and it holds my weight although I do sometimes feel it shift a bit and readjust it. It cannot be made tight enough to hold someone much heavier though. Everyone in my home is tall and heavier than I am and it will come loose when they use it. I believe if they really wanted to use it I would just attach something beneath the ends on the doorframe to give it more support. Currently with only the tension holding it, it is very easy to change the position of the bar if desired. The padded grips are very comfortable and help while I am trying to improve by grip strength. The bar it's self is sturdy. I just would not fully trust the tension to hold it up if you weigh more than 150 lbs or so. I saw some reviews where people complained about damaging walls. It is made to mount in a door frame not on drywall. If you must mount it on drywall you will have to find a spot where the wall studs of a hallway line up directly across from each other so that each end has something solid for the pressure of the tension bar to push against. Nicely packaged and arrived on time . Seems sturdy and the quality seems good However, there are no instructions on how to put it up…can’t comment on grip workout value or fit because it has not been installed Read more
