We originally bought a cheap lemon squeezer from Safeway, and the handle literally broke while squeezing, so I decided to upgrade — and I’m so glad I did. This Monkkino lemon squeezer feels solid and well-made, and you can tell right away it’s built to last. The stainless steel construction is a huge plus for me. I love that there’s no plastic touching my food and no worries about toxins or weird smells. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, and squeezes every last drop of juice without straining my hands. It works perfectly for lemons and limes, and the included stainless steel zester is a great bonus. The grip is comfortable, the hinge feels strong, and nothing flexes or bends when you really press down. If you’ve gone through flimsy squeezers like we did, this one is absolutely worth it. I wish I had skipped the cheap option and bought this from the start. Read more

Smaller than anticipated but good quality. I was looking to replace my one that has a peeling coating and wanted a stainless steel version so I don’t have to deal that. This one was marketed as extra large. It isn’t. It works fine for smaller/medium sized lemons and limes. It’s of good quality- it’s just smaller than I wanted. Read more

Prompt delivery. Great product but does need to be replaced periodically due to rust from citric acid. Read more

I picked this up to make fresh lemon water and for cooking, and it’s much better than the plastic one I was using before. The metal feels sturdy and doesn’t flex when pressing harder lemons. It extracts a lot of juice with minimal effort and keeps seeds out, which saves time. Cleanup is also easy — a quick rinse or toss in the dishwasher. The handle is comfortable to grip and doesn’t slip, even when my hands are wet. If you use lemons often, this is a small kitchen tool that makes a big difference. Read more

When I received the product it was clear it was manufactured by die cast methods (melting point of zinc is like 400C, while 304 stainless is 1400C, big difference!) and as such I was very skeptical that this product could be made of stainless steel for its price. Furthermore, the luster of the metal was a bit darker than what I was used to seeing with stainless steel (and more consistent with a zinc part) The sellers are knowingly deceptive and intentionally claim it is made of 304 stainless which is austenitic and thus not typically magnetic. This of course "checks out" if you try to use a magnet to see if the squeezer is magnetic - of course, zinc isn't magnetic either... To determine that your lemon squeezer is made of zinc, it's not very hard; you mainly require an accurate scale. Take a scale and weigh it. My squeezer was about 345.6 grams (I got 5.95 g/cm^3). Find a container and fill it with water, labeling the point you filled it to. Dunk it in water making sure the entire squeezer is submerged, and find the new marking point. You have now found the volume of the squeezer (Archimedes' principle). I measured mine to be about 58 grams. Now, divide the two and find the volume. I got Note that the density of cast zinc is probably closer to 6 grams/cubic centimeter, while the density of 304 stainless is 7.93 grams/cubic centimeter. This is over a 30 percent difference, so unless the volumetric measurement was WAY off, this part was made of zinc. So why should one care, besides about being lied to, that the squeezer is made of zinc? First off, zinc is a fraction of the strength of stainless steel. There's a reason we don't build that many structural elements out of zinc. Second of all, if the product truly were 304 stainless as claimed, it would be incredibly corrosion resistant. Zinc, on the other hand, is not nearly as corrosion resistant as 304. Finally, the hinge of this product is likely made of actual 316 stainless steel (it's lightly magnetic), and will probably be the site of galvanic corrosion. Over time, the dissimilar metals will rust at the hinge, and I assess this to be a likely product failure point as it receives the most stress. I do not appreciate being lied to and cannot recommend this product for these reasons. Read more
