"Indigo Navy" is a very cool, unique color, especially for raw denim. IMO, they are even lighter than they look in the photo. Out of the box the legs were baggy and too long. I did a pre-soak in cold water for ~30 mins, hung them outside for a bit so they weren't dripping wet, and then wore them to dry. The fit is great now - since I was wearing them the waist stayed about the same (as I hoped), but the legs shrunk down to be a better length with a bit of a taper below the knee. If you buy these, I highly recommend pre-soaking them. If you're worried about shrinkage, wear them while they dry! They'll shrink to your body, but won't go beyond that. As far as size, I bought my normal waist (36) and went up from a 30 to a 32 for the inseam. If you aren't planning to wear them while they dry, it's probably a good idea to size up in the waist too. In Levi's I normally buy the 514, but wanted to check out the STF and I wasn't disappointed! My one comment is that these have a very high rise, especially compared to my normal 514 which are low-rise. I bought them knowing they would fit differently, and I have other jeans that claim to sit 'at the waist', but these are definitely the highest rise in my collection. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase (especially at the $25 price point, unbeatable!) and will probably be buying more 501 STFs soon. Read more

I was a bit underwhelmed by some reviews claiming problems with the size, fit, and fabrics. However, my pair was just perfect. I have many pairs of quality, high end jeans in my collection, so I can easily see any problems. Granted I am not planning to wash my pair for as long as I can, but so far it looks really good for jeans that you can wear every day. This is not LVC but it's a good value for the money. You would do even better if you catch a sale on Amazon. My pair was made in Egypt, fabrics' weight is probably around 12 oz or slightly less. It's not selvedge but the seams look very good. The waist was the exact size, the inseam was plus one inch. As I am planning to wear them rigid I am not too concerned about shrinkage even though these are STF jeans. When I do wash jeans I am not using a washing machine or a dryer, so I can't comment on what would happen if you do. Read more

The Rigid color is SHRINK-TO-FIT. It didn't list it anywhere in the description page. So I had to return the first pair to get a bigger size. I will note that I am 34 waist and on that pair, I couldn't even button it closed. Waist was too small PRE shrinking. So I returned that 34x30 pair for a 36x32 pair, per Levi's instructions with Shrink-to-fit. The replacement pair seemed to be the correct sizing in waist and inseam, but, the legs were comically wide. Shrink-to-fit shrinks in length, not in width. I compared that pair to a pair of 501s that I already own and love, and the legs were 2.5" wider than the other pair. I love Levi's products but their sizing now is super inconsistent, and I won't be buying any more pairs online. Read more
