The best jeans for me have always been 511's. Some have been 100% cotton and no stretch and others with just a bit of elastane. The ones with elastane are a bit lighter weight than the 100% cotton and they don't compare to the Japanese heritage jeans. They also don't cost nearly as much. Over the past five years I have found that the elastane is just as durable for everyday wear as the 100% cotton. Some of my Levi's are distressed and some are not. Most pairs are slim tapered, but I do have a couple pairs that are boot cut. In general, the slim tapered fit my body the best. The others can start looking like dad jeans in the calves. I bought my first pair of Blue Mekong Light jeans recently. As expected they came distressed. As soon as I put them on, my wife loved the look of them. The tapered legs fit great over short boots and look fine with sneakers. The distressed look was just what I was hoping for. The material is soft like well worn jeans should feel. I liked them so much that I ordered a second pair a week later. Both pairs look identical in every way and fit the same way. Perhaps both pairs were from the same lot, none the less, I was surprised at how identical they look and fit. The fading is very nicely done and doesn't have the typical striping on the thighs near the front pockets that you ordinarily see. My preference is to have the fading look natural as if I've worn these to the point where they are distressed. Most days I either wear blue or black 511 jeans. These newest ones are now amongst my favorite as far as fit, comfort and style. Read more
So I was a little hesitant ordering these trousers in a color described as moonbeam, but I am ecstatic with the color and cut of them. Although they are not made from denim as the title suggests (Levi's Men's 511 Skinny Rinsed Jean, Moonbeam, 28x30), I hadn't expected them to be having looked at the same pair on Levi.com where they are listed as 511 Skinny Twill Trousers. They fit just like the 511 jeans but the fabric is thinner. This thinness, however, does not effect the durability of the pants themselves. These are perfect trousers because they offer the look of a more sophisticated pant yet have all the comfort of your favorite pair of Levi's. If you are familiar with the Levi's sizes, these trousers are true to those and fit just like any other 511. They are cut close around the thighs and loosen as they progress toward the ankle. Then sitting down they fit snuggly around the thighs and raise about an inch from where they would normally rest on your shoe. I love these new trousers and plan on ordering more in other colors. Nice Jeans. To all the "Their fake" people they could be but i dont think so. The R on the red tag with no Levi's is a normal thing. Levi's prints every 1 of 10 pair like that for copyright reasons (google it) and the feel of the material is normal for a "Stretch" denim like these are. Its always a lighter feel. Could be wrong, just my 2 cents. Worth the $30. Levi's 511 slim fit.. Read more
I love them. I bought 514 before, but I felt they were a bit too baggy and a bit too thick for warm weather, fine for autumn/winter though. These ones are absolutely perfect for spring/summer. Color is perfect, fit is perfect, denim is not too thin and not too thick, and they are also perfectly comfortable thanks to elastane. These are my favourite jeans now, they are kinda lighter version of the 514 Courier jeans (color-wise, weight-wise, and fit-wise) which I also like very much. They both are excellent find for those who like grey colors. Levi's seem kind of conservative when it comes to colors compared to many European brands, and it's hard to find Levi's pair with nice grey finish. Read more
Hands down best pants fit wise I've had in a while. I have a pair of rigid dragon 511 that are 100% cotton that are slightly too slim especially in the legs most likely due to being all rigid cotton denim. But that's not a deal breaker. But these 511 line 8 (in the olive press) is perfect all around! Color is spot on. It does have the 1% elastene which gives it a stretchy feel but the twill gives a stiffer stretchy feel. Which again - not a deal breaker. If your on the fence about the color or whatever don't worry about these. No extra wrinkles pre - made or other bizarre things levis does to sone of their stuff. The jeans feel and look fantastic. I was surprised about how much stretch it actually had! I have washed them once, and only slightly changed. The upper part of the jeans (where the belt goes), while below the natural waist, can actually stretch out about 2 inches! Glad I ordered a 31 inch instead of 32 inch waist. The fabric is quite soft and does not appear as "rugged" as regular jeans, which makes them great for summer (won't be too hot!). Read more
Just received package today and I have to say I am beyond satisfied and happy with the purchase. The jeans are by far the best jeans I have ever worn and bought better then Calvin Klein jeans even which I previously had. I'm 5'10 170 and a 34*34 are the best fit. Great quality. 10/10 I 1000% recommend these if you are looking for classy comfortable relaxed strong jeans. Read more
I was looking for an affordable pair of grungy looking jeans. These 511's were a pleasant surprise. The jeans do not run small but are a true "slim fit." There is very lil elasticity in the fabric. I was upset the product description could be so misleading. The denim is a bit rough but will get softer every wash. I would not advise wearing these before an initial wash with fabric softner.
