The media could not be loaded. Bought two of these to provide outlets in my garage ceiling so i could replace a couple of older florescent light fixtures. 4" diameter plate with receptacle attached made it easy to wire up and fit the existing opening. This plugged right in, was a good value and had a ground wire for safety. Great for a DIY project. Read more

Very nice replacement for a garage light socket. I had a bare bulb on the garage ceiling controlled by a switch, but it just didn't provide much light. Like a lot of people I picked up several 4 foot LED shop lights from Costco. To hook these up neatly I really needed two outlets on the ceiling. After lots of looking, it seems this Leviton 1228 receptacle is really the only drop-in replacement for a light socket. Everything else involves replacing the whole junction box and patching the ceiling. Wiring it up was easy and it works perfect. I'm taking away 1 star because I had to drill two new holes in the plate to make it fit. I guess it comes with holes to fit a 4 inch junction box and it won't fit a 3 1/2 inch box without drilling. Which is weird because most of the other round Leviton products come with holes to fit both. It would cost them very little to just have punch outs for both sizes. Read more

I went through six different stores in our area which had a large verity electrical items for this duplex cover. Sales reps knew what I was looking for, but non had any, but the item could be ordered. The cover with a receptacle arrived on time and was a correct fit for the power box.
