Works very well, Velcro strips at ends make it much more usable

On a previous vacation I had taken a similar latex clothesline purchased elsewhere. While it worked ok, it simply had latex loops at each end and this meant that I could not attach both ends to a pole or other item. The Lewis N Clark clothesline has a strip of strong Velcro at each end that can be wrapped around most anything. These held well and made the clothesline usable in many more situations. It also has suction cups, but as other reviewers note, they are useless. Luckily they can be ignored. I was a bit concerned that the black colored latex might discolor clothes, but I did not find that to be the case. Edit: June 19, 2015 Ok, it's three years later and the clothesline broke. What happened is that the rubber tube that serves as a strain relief on the connection to the end had slipped down the line, allowing the rubber to bend at the point where it enters the plastic fitting. Enough of this, with tension, and it snapped. I was able to resurrect it by tying a knot in the line, but for six bucks I don't mind replacing it, so I bought another. This time I will be more careful about the strain relief. Read more

Useless. Too Short. Suction Cups Don't Stick.

This thing is AWFUL!! I dont know how it got these other rating but it's totally USELESS! First, the thing is so short it doesnt even stretch across my bathtub. It might fit across a corner. Its not even 3 feet long and has very little stretch. This is a very rigid material. Second, the suction cups have absolutely no suction. They fell right off the bathroom tile wall immediately. Third, the cutouts to hang your clothes are hard to pull apart and attach to the garment. Overall, this is very poorly designed and as many different ways as I tried to make it work, it was just a total disappointment. Returned. Read more

Super handy and strong

I used this on a long business trip to Germany recently, and I did a small amount of laundry nightly in my hotel sink. It was really nice to have both the suction cups and velcro to choose from, based on previous reviews I expected to use the velcro straps, but my uber-efficient hotel room (like an IKEA showroom with everything built-in and flush) did not have ANYTHING that a strap could attach to! I ended up using the suction cups to stretch the cord between a mirror and the glass shower door. Of course, that meant that I couldn't open/close the shower door when the clothes were drying, but that was OK. Once clothes were mostly dry I moved them to hangers in the closet area. The suction cups held up fine to dry 1-2 T-shirts, 1 skirt, and various undergarments at the same time without falling. This was a lifesaver that let me pack lightly and still have clean clothes! Caveats: a couple or a family traveling would likely need 2-3 of these. There was only space to hang 2 outfits maximum when the cord was fully stretched - and I was hanging summer clothes. Hanging jeans or sweaters would likely be too heavy, and there's just not enough space to hang clothes for lots of people. Read more

be careful how far you stretch it

This started out being super handy while I was traveling. Too bad, I only got to use it a couple of times before it broke. I really, really liked it until then. I didn't think I had over stretched it, as it was staying up just fine for the first hour. I went out and came back, though, to find my clothes laying on the floor and the end of the braided cord ripped. I was working with the space I had and did pull it so there was very little slack, so, I would just say to be careful. Make sure there is a lot of slack, though, that also means there will be less room to hang your clothes. One thing I have to say, though...for the couple of days I was able to use it, those suctions cups really held, even with wet clothes. The night it broke, I was using the velcro strap since it was a stuccoed wall and the suction cups could not be used. I used it twice with the cups and the third, and final time, with the velcro straps. Read more

but the Velcro ends are more useful in my opinion anyway

I bought this one because it has both suction cups and Velcro ends, which is more flexible to use one different surface/object. One of the suction cups on mine was not working, but the Velcro ends are more useful in my opinion anyway. We used it a few times during our trip in the hotels and it worked perfectly on different locations. For example, we use the good suction cup on mirror closet door, the velcro on a lamp. we put socks, underwear, and even shirts on it. We put clothes draping over the clothes line, or put the item directly thru the braids, or put the hanger thru the braids; they all worked well. It's a handy item to have if you want to travel light. doesn't hold much

I bought this for our vacation since we were staying at a resort where there were no laundry facilities unless you paid them to do it for you. I read the reviews on the different lines and this one seemed like the best fit for us. It is latex with 3 lines braided together, quite stretchy, and has the 2 suction cups as well as the clips & velcro to attach to bars or handles. I set this up on our patio, one end wrapped around the rail and the other suction cup to the window. The line was stretched to about 6 feet and the suction cup held well the whole time. Some lighter clothes were ok to try to hang, but most things I had to put through at one spot, then weave through again in order to make them stay. I was able to hang 2 pairs of shorts & 2 tops at a time, but the weight proved too much. One of the braids broke, so I tied it back together, but then the other end broke on a different braid. Overall, we were able to use it for the week, but then had to throw it away, so we won't be able to use it again. Read more

Works like a charm

This clothesline works like a charm. There are many ways to attach this clothesline to whatever is available (suction cup, Velcro or hook) and you don't need clothespins you just thread the clothes through the woven line itself. I used it in hotel bathroom several times on my last trip. The suction cup stayed in place the entire 6 days. It was attached to the bathroom mirror and I used the Velcro on the other end to attach the line to a towel rack. Plus it is really compact when not in use, it has it's own pocket to store it in.
