A very nice DVD player, I got it to replace an older, cheaper one. It had started vibrating the DVDs, creating quite a bit of noise. Also, it had a tendency to pixelate the picture randomly; I'd play the DVD say, two times, then the next time I'd play it, the picture became pixelated at various points...cleaning the player did clean it up, but I was cleaning it practically every other time I watched a DVD! This LG DVD/CD player was so easy to install! It did not, however, come with a HDMI cable. Luckily, I had a dual HDMI cable on hand. The only tricky part was my Samsung TV tried to force me to use its universal remote. I love the remote that came with the DVD CD player, so I ignored the attempts of the TV to make everything universal on the main remote. All I had to do then was use the new remote and everything was instantly hooked up with just the HDMI cable. With this cable, there’s no need for the audio jacks which many TV’s don’t even have anyway. It will play my CDs through my TV speakers, and has a USB jack right in the front for audio files. Haven’t tried that usb function yet, but if it doesn’t work, I will update my review. I love the simple design, and low profile design. Even the packaging is simple, but efficient. It has a THREE FOOT CORD !!! What the hell is that? I can't get to any outlet with a 3 foot cord !! Also, the plug is some craptacular USA over a european plug. It is going back for sure. Read more
