I purchased these boots in chocolate brown in a size 9 wide (9C) which is my true size. They are so cute and comfortable they look great with jeans, leggings, trousers -- and I'm even willing to wear them with skirts or dresses because the fit around the ankle is just right -- I don't look like I've stuck my foot in some buckets. I also like that even if the fit around the ankle isn't excessively wide, there is still room to tuck leggings, jeggings and skinny jeans into the boot without uncomfortable bunching. Also the footbed is nicely cushioned and the heel height is good enough to run if I needed to. Also I love that the boot has a pointed toe because it slims my foot and many wide-width styles that are also comfortable look so clunky frumpy and just flat out ugly that I might as well wear a box on my foot. I wear a size 8, my foot is neither narrow, nor wide. I would say they are of average width. I have purchased Life Stride shoes in the past and they were quite comfortable so I thought these would be a winner. The style is exactly what I wanted and reasonably priced so I was really excited to get them. Also, I have this outfit that I’m dying to wear and I need the boots to go with it. Well, I put them on today for work and I have to say these boots are good for about two hours sitting down. I have a desk job so I’m not walking around all day. But today I decided to venture out to lunch in my new boots. Only then did I realize that there are no arches. I felt my foot collapse ever so slightly every time I took a step down. And within 45 minutes, I started to feel shin splints forming and my ankles were starting to hurt as well. Not chafing hurt but muscular hurt if there’s any muscles on the ankle in the first place. Let’s just say there was ankle pain. I’m just sick about how uncomfortable these boots. Whilst at the store, I decided maybe I’ll buy inserts for the boot and perhaps they will feel better. They did indeed feel better in the arch area only. I still felt the stress in my ankle and shins. I know tomorrow I will be in pain. Unfortunately, I have to return them after I wore them all day, but I will not settle. These must go back. Now I noticed in the other reviews that other people have enjoyed this boot on their foot and felt it to be quite comfortable, so maybe I am the small percentage that did not have the same experience.
