I've been on the fence about shelling out this much for a yoga mat, but after trying FIVE other mats from Amazon, I'm a LifeForme believer. For reference, I'm a relative yoga beginner, but I've been taking 10-12 classes a week for the past 4 months ranging from vinyasa to Bikram hot. This mat has just the right amount of cushioning without being 'gushy'. I found that mats that were too thick were too hard to do balancing postures. I also prefer just the center line and the vertical lines. I had purchased two other mats with the diagonal lines and found the lines to be mentally distracting. Every posture became 'are my feet or hands lined up with something' and I should have been focused on breathing. The center line is all I need for correct placement. The other thing I like about this mat is that is stays put on the floor, and absolutely does not get slick once I start sweating in Bikram class. A couple of things to note: this mat is heavier than your average yoga mat, but it's much lighter than the much cheaper 'knock off' version. You will also need to unroll this mat to let it dry after a hot yoga class. (It dries within 3-4 hours). I still wish this mat were cheaper, but all in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. Namaste :) Read more
I almost never write reviews. I only write one when I'm over the moon about a product. This is the case with the Lifeform yoga mat. This is really the best yoga mat I found. And I tried out all the top U.S. brands. My new Lifeforme replaced a yoga mat a friend brought home for me from New Zealand 20 years ago! Why did I keep this mat for 20 years? Because I couldn't find a new mat that I liked as much. Not until a friend turned me onto Lifeforme. It's just the right amount of sticky and the size is perfect (I'm 5'5", average build) I much prefer the minimal marking on the EVOLVE vs the original mat. If you practice even only once a week, I think this mat is well worth the investment. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Happy practicing. Read more
I love this yoga. After using many others over the years, I finally discovered Liforme and it's changed how often I practice. No slipping and no sticking- but the stability it provides incredible! If you're on the fence, just go for it. You won't be sorry! Read more
I've been practicing yoga with Manduka mats for a long time and the liforme mat improved my practice significantly. The alignment system works. The grip is truly phenomenal. When I practice hot yoga I sweat a lot and the grip is flawless for the whole class. The one downside .... it seems that it stains easily and that It won't last forever. Read more
I’ve been doing yoga since 1994 and I’ve had many mats. There are several high-quality mats that I could be happy with but I must admit that this one is the best, so far. You don’t need a towel and you will not slip. I love the grip that your fingers and feet get while you’re moving through your poses. The hardest part of having a towel with that it would gather and twist and move during my practice. I don’t have that problem anymore with this matter. Even my husband loves it! This is worth every penny. I promise. Read more
Oh my gosh. My wrists, hands and hip bones felt like I was directly on the hard yoga studio floor. Granted there is no slip, but there is no slidding of feet either. I can say that the bag is nice and the mat did not smell. But it is awfully thin. And heavy. Dense perhaps, but still TOO thin. Read more
Ok, I was kind of freaked out by the price of this mat, but when I thought about all the cheap mats I have purchased that are collecting dust, I decided to go for it. I am extremely pleased! The traction was my main interest, and it can't be beat. I really didn't think I wold use the alignment markings, but then I did find myself checking on my positions, and i love them! I researched all of the top rated mats before I bought this one. The contender said it had to be treated with salt or some such to get rid of the slipperiness out of the box. Not this one! You will be ready to go! I WILL say that sometimes I will put it over another mat for the hard wood floor if I am doing a lot of kneeling poses. It is not very cushioned. Nevertheless, the traction is what I was looking for. Read more
If you practice any kind of hot yoga this is the best mat out there... it absorbs sweat without getting slick or slippery. It's a little more expensive than I would normally spend on a mat, but if you have a regular hot practice it's well worth the extra money. I've always used a Lulu mat with a towel, but had issues with the towel bunching up or sliding around- no towel needed with this mat. Cleaning is quick and easy, so no issues there. It is a little heaver than other mats I own, but not a big deal. Only sorry I didn't find this one sooner! Read more
