I really wish there was a 4.5 star option (but I'm rounding up because they threw some freebies in the envelope). That photo there is an alarm system base station. Which has a BRIGHT BLUE LIGHT that would wake the dead. Or, at least, makes it hard for me to sleep. And it's not even in the same room. It's in the hallway, but it lights up the hall so much, the bedroom isn't dark. The alarm has an option for turning OFF the light, but it's a status indicator, so I really just wanted to dim it (and, really, just dim it on the side the faces the bedroom). A friend tipped me off to LightDims and they're just the ticket. Photos of light are notoriously bad, but I think this one tells the story -- look at not only the white hot sun burning on the un-LightDimmed side, but notice also how it reflects on the table. The LightDimmed side does not reflect. The light is still VISIBLE as blue, but not lighting up my bedroom like the Blue Fairy coming for a visit. The reason I'd take off half a star is, well, see that little extra dark spot on the far left of the dimmed side? That's because LightDims are engineered for flat surfaces, and this one is round. I couldn't keep it straight, flat, and unwrinkled all the way around the unit, so had to use a few pieces. The black spot is where two of them overlap. I am VERY happy with this product (and now that I know it exists, I have many other uses for it -- some of this stuff is definitely going in my travel bag. It just doesn't have a super professional look on round surfaces. Read more

I’ve used them for 4 years and the original one I put on a digital alarm clock is still there with no sign of coming off. Read more
I've been using Light Dims for years, usually the kind with pre-cut shapes, but I picked up these customizable ones for some large panels and a kind of charging station with lots of odd angles. Light dims may seem like basically a fancy sticker, but there really isn't anything else that can do the job as well. The adhesive is strong enough to hold onto most surfaces securely, they come off in one piece (unlike a paper-backed sticker) doesn't leave any residue, and they are usually still sticky enough to reapply at least once or twice. The opacity of regular strength is also something you can't get with just a regular sticker. I use these throughout my house, so having something that looks nice and doesn't gunk up my expensive electronics is worth it. I think it's a fair price considering it is a niche product that required some R&D, doesn't cut corners on quality, and the benefits are well worth it. Read more
Good product. I had already purchased the mutli-shape pack prior to this large version so I knew basically what to expect. The dimming material is tough and will reduce brightness of a display by maybe 50% (yrmv). I purchased it for another buy, a ZHPUAT Big Screen Alarm Clock, because the display was far too bright for a bedroom (not a bad thing on its own!) Product; wrapper sealed item as shown. Application Tips: Peel the dimming sheet off of the backing, but only just enough to start. Have a broad, flat tool (ex. spatula, roller) on hand, something without irregularities at the edge. Once you have the sheet lined up and started use this tool to apply even pressure near to where the sheet and application surface meet. This same process an be used for most films or cling sheets Other: Application on large items can be tricky so find a friend and avoid distractions. You can pull back and re-position the sheet but only so many times before it starts to show wear. And you will likely have a few bubbles so try going over it again with the tool. If that doesn't work, use something with a fine point (ex safety pin) to poke a hole in the bubble. Pressing on it will release the trapped air and the hole will only be visible on close inspection. This is all DIY though so if it has to be perfect you can only pull the sheet off and try again. Read more
I am a light sleeper and I am sensitive to lights when I sleep, so when I found this I was so excited. I got three different strengths of light dimming sheets in my envelope.. I chose a medium strength for my alarm clock with red numbers. It works great and helps me so much. The seller threw an a little bonus sheet, which was awesome! The sheet does make the clock pretty dark, but I can still read it during the day. FYI, my vision is not great, so I have to get kind of close to read it anyway. Read more
This is exactly what I wanted. The numbers on my new clock were too bright when I was sleeping. I like a dark room but also want to know the time when I wake during the night. This product is PERFECT! Read more
