An amazing gadget that has simplified our lives. Read more
This product has been life changing for my 82 year old grandmother. I’m only bumping down to one star because the first one we received was defective after about a month of use. But the company was easy to work with and sent us a ONE TIME replacement. They were specific about the one time. The product overall is great. My grandmothers heath has improved due to the dispenser making her take her medicine correctly, and timely. I would purchase again if need be. She is able to carry it around easily and dump the pills into her hand when it’s time to take her medicine. Read more
Only negative is the latch and key are too cheap / flaw in design. The key slot fitting is not compatable enough with the key and the key slips when trying to lock or unlock. This caused the latch on the cover-thin plastic- to break after about 6 months. I bought another unit to replace the first. This is a dream machine for caring for my elderly mother. So I cannot do without it now. It was a huge help for us. One other thing, the shape of each individual pill dispenser slot is sort of triangular. Some pills tend do get lodged in the narrow space(oblong and Vit D gel caps) so I have am & pm total pill count typed on paper nearby. So when my mother turns the unit upside down to dispense the pills, she can count the pills to see if the proper amount came out. If not she can use pencil to get the remaining lodged pills to empty. We use a cookie pan with a dark color cloth on top so she can see the pills. Its just amazing how the medical professionals expect an 80+ year old to be able to be responsible enought to take 10+different medications thruout the day and be able to figure out every other day, and once evry 3 days.etc.. they just write the prescriptions and send them in their way. That is why I say this is a dream machine for our family. Especially when the medications change often. My sisters and I can setup the machine for a week or more. Then after doctor visits , we can change up the dispenser to match the new prescriptions. It gets frustrating. Just make (write out) chart for each week (something the doctors or medication professionals never do) then fill the machine. We us pictures of the pills and a total count for each dispense time. Making a chart really helps. Read more

the instructions were clear and set-up was not difficult. However, at the first set alarm time, the device displayed an "Err" on the screen, green lights around the device lit up, and there was no way to clear it or reset it. I "power cycled" it by pulling the batteries out and placing them back in (fresh, new batteries, not the generic brand batteries that were included with the device). Reseating the batteries allowed the device error to go away, but it was only temporary. The next "alarm" time arrived and the device blinked green and displayed the same "Err" message on the screen. For a contraption this expensive to fail immediately out of the box, I have no faith in the product quality and will be returning it. Additional concerns regarding quality is that the device must be locked in order for the door to be closed (it does not snap or click closed). Overall, the concept is great, but the quality and execution is horrible. 1 star is generous. Read more
After writing the review below the Lock for the container broke. We are trying another one but unsure of how it will hold up. We only had the first one for one month. We bought this for my 99 year old mom who lives alone. She has short term memory problems. She was always dropping her pill containers or playing with the pills and mixing them up. It took a week or two for her to get in the rhythm of using it and also a few tears because change is hard but it works great. So impressed with it. It is on the kitchen counter with instructions taped to the cupboard. At first she read the instructions but it is getting more routine now. Our instructions are: alarm sounds, open window, tip pills into your hand, swallow pills. Because of her short term memory problems she constantly goes to check to see if she has taken her pills. If there are no pills in the window she has taken them. Highly recommend this. Hope this is helpful. The only concern is the key. It is a bit difficult to lock and unlock and I am concerned the threads will wear out. But would not hesitate in recommending this to others. Read more
THIS is a GOOD THING for forgetful or easily confused persons. The pills appear with a tone when due, and the tone sounds for 30 minutes. When the door is opened the tone stops. Now, as others have noted, the key to unlock the device is connected to a piece of plastic, too easily broken. Also, the device does NOT stay together unless the lock is used. Also, the inevitable banging of the device to release a stuck pill inside - will completely unhinge the box if it is not locked. A simple Robertson head or even phillips head on the lock would suffice in most cases, the tamp-pruf key is overkill. The box is just like your house, if anyone REALLY wants to get in, they can- Also the alarm only sounds for a half hour. A better scheme would be 5 minutes at the dose time, then 2 minutes every half hour after that. A blinking LED until the dose is taken would also be a great addition. If the person is hard of hearing, sleeping, or in another part of the house when the alarm goes off, the unit doesn't make a peep after that. It needs a 'NAG!' function :-) The setup is simple on the unit, and overall function has been good. If these improvements were added, I think it would beat any other unit on the market! 7/29/23 Just received the replacement unit for the one ordered 3/21/22. It seems the lifespan of the unit is just about 1 year, then the display goes away, and it is useless. Read more
