Since my son is at college, I am cooking for one. This 8" griddle is perfect for just me. I use it anywhere from searing a NY Strip (cut in half) or a quick grilled sando. As expected from Lodge, great little griddle. It is small. I ordered specifically because it replaces a small pan that the handle broke off of, so no issues with it's size. It comes preseasoned from the factory. I washed it with soap and water, dried on the stove top and wiped new oil on, then started cooking. Fairly nonstick, as cast iron goes. I make my tortillas from scratch and bought this just for that purpose. It's great. Not too heavy, easy to clean and fits nicely into my limited kitchen pan cabinet. The price is right, too. I just got it for Christmas and can easily foresee using it on multiple cooking projects. Read more
Correctly pre-seasoned by Lodge, ready for you to continue its seasoning by using, using, using it, such repeated use seasons and fills in the initial roughness of cast iron, producing a smooth, slick, fully broken-in pan. No detergent or soap as chain mail can scrub it clean enough, rinse it, completely dry it on low heat, brush oil on it then use a paper towel to wipe off excess oil. Larger pans are available, but this little shallow-sided pan can be very handy, a keeper. For this pan get this turner: Fox Run Chef's Stainless Steel Fish Spatula, Slotted, Metallic, and brush-on a little oil. Read more
The Product is a Scam. It says 10.5 inch but actually it is only 8 inches. The remaining 2.5 inches is the handle. Here is a fact to the manufacturer to lower your returns: We as customers do not care about the handle. Saying it is 10.5 inches is false marketing and will definitely result in returns. Kindly advertise your product the way it is and do not unnecesarrily lie about the size. 8 Inches is too too small for a lot of purposes. I wanted to use to bake tortillas but unfortunately I cannot because of the size. Read more
Worked great. Perfect for quick meals like grilled cheese, one or two eggs, pancakes, etcetera. Keep an eye out for quality defects as I found one after use (see attached photo). No company is perfect, its cast iron, these things happen. Overall a great piece, useful, great size, and convenient to use. Want to get another because of the pit but might just keep it. Read more
