In a search for a "silent alarm clock" on Amazon, I found what seemed an ideal solution to the tick-tick-tick that my current battery clock makes. This LOFICOPER Non Ticking Analog Alarm Clock is supposed to be silent, but it isn't. Instead of "tick-tick-tick" it goes "dut-dut-dut" -- faintly, to be sure, but enough that my wife can hear it from across the room. I had hoped this was the solution, but I guess we will keep it for another use and look for a corded (electric) clock instead. Not recommended, if you want a truly silent clock. Read more

This clock is aesthetically very nice and compact! However there is a soft sound of the internal hands ticking that made it hard for me to fall asleep. It is very faint (my ears are a little more sensitive than others). Might not be an issue for most but keep in mind if you are a sensitive to sounds. Read more

A very simply styled black, analog clock that you can read from across the room. Accuracy should be good with the electric movement. A single AA battery runs it. As an alarm clock this does one thing at one time only, simple. For the bedroom, there is no ticking sound to annoy and no digital light. Yes there is a light if you need it, but it can be turned off. If you are tiring of the complicated, multifunction digital clocks this will be the solution. Easy to set, easy to use, easy to read. Size and style-wise, this was exactly what I was looking for. I popped in a fresh battery and we were off to the races. About four hours later, it stopped. I popped the battery out and put it back in, and it started back up, no problem. The next morning, I saw that it had stopped again. I thought that there was a slight possibility the battery could have been an old one and it was just low on juice, so I replaced it with one that I knew was brand new. It started back up.
