I received two of these today. I tested both, then removed the chip from my computer and put it back in the holder slot. I also removed the two AA batteries (they do not come with batteries). I stored it in the closet. I have used the other for about 4 hours, and it works great. I had another that finally bit the dust, due to my getting exasperated at what I was doing and slamming it on the desk many different times. I had that one for several years. I bought two just in case I need a replacement. The newer ones come with a roller ball, which I very much dislike. This is a great mouse, but the price seems a little steep. It was the lowest price in could find anywhere. Highly recommend if you need a simple mouse for surfing and writing. I don't play games, so I cannot report on how this would work for action games.
